Lowest price since 2017 on a quality, old school carbon steel knife. This would be great for slicing roasts.

Do note that since it's carbon steel, you will need to care for it. Don't let it sit in water or go in the dishwasher or it will rust. You will need to hone and sharpen it regularly to get and keep a wicked sharp edge. You may need to give it a little oil coating now and then. It will develop a blueish patina over time.

I don't care about this knife.

Want to say how obnoxious it is to read repeated bad info like yours. The type of person that puts knives in a dishwasher, or leaves knives wet aren't in position to comment on carbon steel knives which are used by people who actually know how to cook worldwide.

Maybe say, "These knives have to be kept dry at all times" or nothing at all.

So annoying. You are why every time I order fries they come without salt.
You didn't take care of a carbon steel knife properly then. It's not simple like stainless. You cannot leave them wet.

Thanks, in for one.
One small nit: I think that a slicer is used for cutting slices off a roast, and this is used for cutting roasts off of your large animal of choice.

Fine with me if they use a Sawzall.

Never seen a real Old Hickory knife [ontarioknife.com] that did not have the name on the handle.... maybe these are special.

Love these knives! If you get bored try customizing the handle. A little sanding goes a long way

I have an older OK butcher that I found in a thrift store. You can hone these things wicked sharp.
