Just received this from the last deal, much higher quality than the cheap ones it replaced, better plastic, the bubbles are held in by more than just a friction fit, hopefully the last one of these I buy.
I have a version of this and it was invaluable in setting porch posts while building a shed, because you can see both plumb and level with out having to move a torpedo level from side to side. Mine hooks to the post with rubber bands, so your hands are free to move the post until it's plumb and level then nail it in place. It's not easy to do by yourself, but it can be done.
It never matters if it's plumb and level when using one of these. As soon as you turn your back, it's gonna shift.... especially when there's concrete involved! 😃

Don't water down your concrete so much and it will work 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Bought 2 empire post levels from home depot. Little cheaper. But doesn't have magnets. Comes with thick rubber band to temporarily fasten to post. These are a must have investment if you have a fence project coming up.

Drive a couple stakes in the dirt beforehand, plumb it, and screw the stakes into the post to hold, and then pour concrete.
If you're putting up a fence you don't have to go crazy with the leveling, I usually eye it , maybe level it vertically and hold it in place with a big stone or piece of concrete block jammed on top of the poured cement.
Alas, I'm self taught, would love to hear some tricks from an actual concrete finisher. (I know some just dump the bag of concrete in the hole and just water it like a tree lol).

Picked up the line level for $1.39, too. If I use it once someday it will be worth it.

Well sure. What could possibly go wrong with using your $1200 phone over a deep hole filled with wet concrete?
