I'm familiar with ft, tpg, millionmilesecrets, and a few others but they all seem to take more time than they should. Maybe there is a good subreddit? Or deal alert in here?
Doctor of Credit for cards. They don't push cards for commissions like TPG and other blogs do.
You are also limited to one Marriott welcome bonus every 24 months.
Can we close the amex card and then apply for this one to get the bonus? Will the free night certificates will lost due to this?
Yes, you'd need 10 nights to make Gold if you have the card. There was a recent promotion to earn double nights per stay (ended on the 28th, I think), as an example of how you can do it for less. However, Gold isn't all that great - the real bonuses start at Platinum now (50 nights).
