15% off + 10% off totals 23.5% off, not 25% off.

A lot of you seem to know a a lot about these chairs. I see Steelcase Leap V2 chairs on Craigslist that "appear" new for around $600. Two have told me they are resellers. They can't be authorized dealers, so I know I won't get a warranty, but that's a used chair price. Does anyone know the complete story on these? One of them is a store. Some tags are on the chairs.

As someone with a $99 ikea chair, I want something new that will last since I now work from home exclusively. A lot of the comments on here make me think it's worth it to invest, but can anyone recommend what options are worth it for someone with no experience?

I also work in my basement which slants backwards from my desk, making it uncomfortable to sit for extended periods of time. Would something like this help (even with the best seat tilt option)?
Never invest in a chair like this until you sit in it. Everyone is different. I hate the aeron, but love the embody. My wife hates my embody, and lives her cheap aeron knockoff. Find a local dealer and plant your butt in some chairs. Decide after that.

Mine is about 15 years old and still going strong. We are not the exception — these chairs really do last a lifetime.

These are the best office chairs you can ever find. Good for the lower back, and adjustable in a lot of ways. Very...very durable. I have used mine for 5 years at work, before I used it, it was used by a couple of people before me, and it was given to me to take home, and after another 4 years at home, it going strong. I am tight with money, but I would invest in these chairs. Most desk chairs cause me lower pain, but these don't. I highly recommend it

This chair is not worth the money. I had one. The pressure on the hamstrings put a big pull on my knee and I tore my ACL from getting up from this chair because the hamstring was frozen in one position for a few hours of a time at an angle that was abnormal. Go to an office furniture supply vendor and get a better price on a comfy ergo chair if that's what you are looking for.
Holy crap. How out of shape does someone need to be to tear an ACL just from standing up?

Steelcase over Herman Miller. Thank me later
With work from home, I got my Herman Miller Aeron from the office.

And my girlfriend got her Steelcase Leap from her office.

For 10 years, I swore this HM was the best... But I plan on going to my local furniture store tomorrow. They have used Leap V2 for about $350 and I want to check out their condition. I've 100% switched teams.

This HM is a great chair I plan on keeping for work, but for my personal computer I want a Steelcase.

I bought an Aeron from these guys last time with the discounts. They got it to me in a few weeks. Overall the Aeron is great if you sit in the correct posture. My arms and butt are never sore after 12+ hours in the chair. But my back some times feel it since I tend to slouch.

Read that the new models don't have infinite tilt mechanism (I think it has 5 locking positions instead) and the foam below your legs are removed. Just note that all the testimonials about how great their aerons are after 10+ years are based on the older version.

Use an Aeron at work. Bought the Hayworth Fern for home. I'd take my Fern any day.

Staples chairs don't hold a drop to HM. Maybe your body is unique in the way you prefer Ayalon but every chair I tried at Staples seems inferior to me.
I suspect you're right with respect to durability. And I fully expect to replace the staples chair every 3 years, but given the price difference, it'll be 3 staples chairs, or I'm estimating 9 years, before I get to the price of an Aeron. But, as far as comfort, I don't think it's me. I'm in decent shape without any kind of health issues that require special accommodations. I'm basically comfortable in almost all types of seating from movie seats, to train seats, to bus seats, to bicycle saddles. But, regular airline seats and the Aeron make me a similar type of uncomfortable and force me to keep shifting and contorting (perhaps having wider hips/rear-end would distribute the pressure better, but that's about the only thing I can think of ).

I work from home now due to the pandemic and I needed a good quality comfortable char. Got lucky and scored a used Herman Miller Aeron Chair on Craigslist for $350.

This a good deal at $669.38, your lower back and butt will thank you for it.
