I actually didnt even bother negotiating. Just sent 4 emails to HM authorized dealer and recieved 4 different quotes and picked the lowest one.

I purchased a steel case criterion from Madison - it's a refurb, they didn't send me what I'd ordered, gave me something else I didn't want and told me it was an upgrade. The arm pad broke off (hacked it with a large silicon band. It cost at the time $350. It's still more comfortable than anything else I've sat in except for my recliner.

This HM chair was a stable or must have office chair at any "dot-com" or wanna be dot-com back in the late 90 to the beginning of 2000. It was $1000-$1200 a piece even when you buy in bulk.

Odd for it to happen now, but at the beginning of the pandemic I bought an absolutely brand new Leap V2 fully loaded from some guy's garage for $400. He had like 6 all brand new and knew a lot about chairs, and said he was in charge of furnishing offices but the entire office he just got chairs for never opened due to the pandemic so he was selling them on the side. I ended up giving it to my wife to use, but it was a hell of a deal. So there are decibel going to be resellers of various sorts for these chairs due to the disruptions caused by the pandemic, from actual stores to random dude's garages.

Check out Crandalloffice dot com. They will reupholster the seat and the back for $150 and replace your old seat with a more padded one.

Plenty of actual reviews out on the web that compares SecretLab to Herman Miller. Sorry but those racer gaming chairs are trash. You'll realize this in a few months when your back starts hurting.

Ppl pay this much for chairs bc if you sit at a desk for a living that's a significant portion of your life in that chair. It needs to be ergonomically designed to not wreck your body, much like a secretlab or any of those racing chairs will do.

Buy a sports car if you want race seats. They still won't be very comfortable but they'll keep you in place from g forces while cornering. Don't seem to experience much g force while sitting at my pc.
