A similar Ryobi set is currently $199 at Home Depot. I realize that's about $60 more, but it's well worth it for the better ecosystem. These Ryobi sets often go on sale if you are able to hold out for the next sale.

I bought a Hart chainsaw recently and I can't say enough good things about it. It performs as I had hoped. It doesn't seem like garbage to me but then again I'm not a heavy user and I don't have a different brand to compare to. If these tools are built similarly then I suspect the light to moderate home user will feel they meet their needs.

Hart, a legacy tool name not tied to the original brand (like Craftsman), which is a Ryobi clone with a battery system completely incompatible with others out on the market. Sounds like a good deal if you intend to use these tools as consumables.

My own first and only impressions of HART so far is a tape measure that had an auto lock feature and worked better than any other tape measure I've ever used (the button was only used to get the tape back in the housing). I'd think about getting this if I didn't already have a drill/impact. But if I were to re-do my own personal battery tool setup I'd go with RYOBI but I doubt this is much different in quality/price and returns etc are easier with walmart.

I have a ton of Hart hand tools and they are a great value but I would not invest in this platform with any hopes of it still being around in a few years

HART power tools are owned by Techtronic Industries (TTI). A Chinese company that owns and manufacturers many widely known brands like Milwaukee, Ryobi, Ridgid, and others.

It would appear they manufacture the HART line exclusively for Walmart (if the white/blue colors didn't give it away already).

No experience with them personally. They're probably decent.

Hart is sister brand to Ryobi, Milwaukee... they are all under TTI group. Its just Walmart exclusive, the quality should be at bar with Ryobi which is HD exclusive.

Tier quality wise think of it like this, Dewalt >Craftsman >Black and Decker=Hart


They're solid entry level tools for Home Improvement DIY. Pretty much Walmart's Ryobi, with a basic lineup. Need more tool options while still spending less $$, go Ryobi.

Had to return 200 dollar brushless trimmer by ryobi. Dropped it off two weeks before thanksgiving and got a new one in March. Mind you this thing says 5 year warranty on the box, just have to deal with not having it a third of the time.

Maybe your Walmart has a different selection that the ones near me...I have a pretty extensive Black & Decker collection, just about everything, but there are numerous models that Ryobi has that I wish B&D did...Hart seems to have a shit-ton of models afaict, on par with or even exceeding Ryobi.

I don't own any Makita tools (already got too many DeWalt tools) but I do like them. One of the few remaining non-Chinese owned power tool brands. They have a factory in my neck of the woods as well. Big respect for "made in the USA".

I have owned Makita tools as long as I've been alive since they were handed down to me. I'm a big fan, but you are fooling yourself if you think Makita is keeping up their old standards on the blue Makita tools.

Like almost all manufacturers, Makita is cutting corners on their original line. The blue made-in-China Makita is the lower-tier, and the maroon made-in-Japan is the current high-tier. You can see detailed tear downs on AvE's youtube channel.

I'm still a Makita fan, but with the price of the maroon Makitas, I always check what Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ridgid, Bosch, and Metabo are offering.

More on topic, the HART brand is made by the same manufacturer that makes Milwaukee and Ridgid. Ridgid is often very similar to old Milwaukee tools. I suspect HART will be like a budget Ridgid line, and I suspect they will be great tools for the money.
