For those that have one, what is your experience with the Nespresso Virtuo line?

The wife wants one, but I'm reading horrible reviews on their website and across Reddit.
We make about 2-5 pods per day.... we are addicted. It is delicious coffee. You pay a premium for the convenience factor paired with the taste. You get a beautiful head of crema. I love brewing it into glassware so you can see how pretty it looks. Tastes even better. No issues with the hardware at all and I have brought it on road trips (i am addicted).

Go Read reviews from other websites. I've owned the regular, plus, and next. The next is much better and messes up less than the other 2. Next doesn't take up as much space either and does the same as the other two. Only issue is that it's loud.
It's not reviews but a lot of users report leaking of water from the machine on the next models. And Nespresso is offering to replace them with any other vertuo model. That tells me there is an issue in manufacturing that Nespresso is aware of

Have the verturo next and I like it better for it's small foot print
I just bought the Virtuo Next from Costco (it's a hot deal: $100 off $500 means $33ish off $169 price, which also includes the milk frother, 42 capsules, and $35 gift card to nespresso.com).

Virtuo Plus can actually be better for footprint b/c you can arrange the water tank on the left, directly behind, or right of the machine itself. Reviews I've read also talk about how the Plus is a higher quality machine, easier to use, and produces better foam (Next makes terrible/ inconsistent foam).

Here's a good review between Plus v. Next.

I've been using the original Pixie model since 2014 and have really enjoyed it. I bought my in-laws a Virtuo Plus about 2ish years ago and have used their machine a dozen times. I just received my Virtuo Next yesterday and made a coffee last night + this morning.

My anecdotal experience: Pixie is the highest quality machine (less plastic; feels more sturdy; lasted me 6 years and counting), but it's an orignal line and only makes espressos.

Between Plus and Next, Plus is definitely better built and produces better foam/crema. Plus is also more user friendly with the one touch open and close, and you can place the water tank in different positions (next to machine, behind machine).

My favorite Nespresso between these three models is the Plus. It's the most user-friendly, makes consistent foam/crema, and makes bigger cups of coffee (7.7oz is my go-to). My in-laws has had it for almost two years and have never had issues with it.

My virtuo broke within a few months of light use this year. It just stopped powering on no matter what. Customer service did not rectify. Bummed.

From my reading stay away from the Next model. Everything else is good. If you only want espresso buy the original line. If you want cups of coffee to then you have to do the vertuo model. Coffee isn't hot hot but if you run hot water through the machine first and into your cup then brew your pod it makes a big difference. I don't mind it without doing that step as I don't have to wait for it to cool down.
After 2 cups of coffee (in 2 days), the Next machine is okay. It's decent enough to where I'm willing to keep it for now due to the great Costco price, and not feel like I need to upgrade it to the Plus machine.

Personally, I expect to use the Next machine most b/c it's what I have at home right now. If there are concerns about quality or if it breaks down, I have the Costco Citicard 2+2 (4 years) of warranty, or I can simply return/exchange it at Costco. Highly recommend y'all to go the Costco route if you get the Next.

Virtuo Plus on sale @wayfair for $150

https://www.wayfair.com/kitchen-t...D=20734279
In 6 years of the original (Pixie), I've never experienced a mess-up. For almost 2 years of the Plus, my in-laws have never mentioned anything about the Plus messing up either.

Walmart.com was selling the Plus for $99 for several weeks a month or two ago... I was still researching the Virtuo line and didn't jump on it. Failed the Slickdeals philosophy: buy and think about it later. Frown

I read the same about the Next leaking water. I didn't experience this in my first two cups, but I'll be monitoring this.

Same here, love the crema in glass, I use to drink just one cup a day, ever since got this machine averaging 2.5 cups, have been using the foil from Amazon last few weeks, working out great so far.

This is ten times better than Keurig. The Nespresso flavors are great. Never had issues with the website or customer service. Must be some bad rap or Keurig envy. Someone mentioned the original nespresso. Those are amazing too. Vertuo is great for lungos and 8-12 oz coffee, that taste like coffee. Warm your cup, the machine may be faulty if you are getting warm coffee.

I dont drink coffee everyday til I tried Nespresso. The Next model is a hit or miss. I've read hundreds of report about it leaking from the facebook group. The good thing is, Nespreso have really good customer service so even if it leaks, they'll replace it with either Plus or regular Vertuo machine.

The quality is superb, much better than SB. I was never a coffee snob and would roll my eyes when I hear people say it makes keurig coffee tastes like dirt water. After drinking Nespresso exclusively for 3 months and have a cup from Keurig, I had to tell myself this is what dirt water everybody was talking about!

I'm addicted as well, and I agree that the experience is better with clear glassware. It tastes so much better in the Nespresso mugs, and it's like art every time the coffee is brewed.

The capsules are pricey, so I think I've figured out a tentative system that works for me: 5 Vertuo coffee's on EasyOrder for bi-monthly delivery, and 4 Vertuo espresso's on EasyOrder every six months. I can adjust as needed.

This would net me a free sleeve of Double Espresso Chiaro 5 times per year, which is all I need since I try to have it once per week. I'll stay on top of promo codes too. (I try to take a break from coffee on Sunday's, and also use a Keurig some days.)

If it was half the price I would probably purchase double the coffee, but I don't mind as much spending ~ $400/year to have it once per day.

30% off inflated MSRP is not a deal. Faint Once again, slickdeals promotes paid advertising for nondeals.

Bigger discount right now at Bed, Bath and Beyond stores. Very easy to find discount of 40 percent or higher many times a year, including right now.

Both my Vertuo AND another one I gave as a gift broke within 18 months of buying them. Both machines were used with at most 3 pods a day. It had the red and green light for a while, so we descaled it but it didn't seem to help. Eventually it just crapped out and would not start. We called the customer service line and they said it's only one year manufacturer warranty and to fix it would cost $130 so we said no thanks. At the very end of the call, the customer service rep had the audacity to ask if we wanted to buy another sleeve of this new flavor... Crappy customer service for sure.

One word: incredible. I own just about every type of coffee machine imaginable and Nespresso blends are amongst the best I have ever had, plus the crema adds a nice texture to each sip. I have had the Next machine for over a year now and I have had zero issues. The Next is the newest model and as such has more features than the other machines (WiFi, firmware updates and compatibility with new 18oz pods). Coffee is scolding hot. Lots of misinformation about these machines are being spread mostly from folks who don't know how to read a user manual.
