Highly recommend the Kor Preshell. I have the hoody version. Weighs less than 5oz, folds into its own pocket, and a little smaller than the size of a soda can. Lightweight, packable, and highly breathable. Not very wind resistant due to breathability, but that makes it great for aerobic use in both hot and cool weather. Bug resistant as well. Hem is a little short and the hood isn't very roomy, but that's passable. For this price it's an absolute steal.

Yes, I've used it twice. Once they replaced a jacket and the other time they repaired for free. Took a couple weeks, but jacket came back like new.

I have the Kor Preshell in both pullover and hoody versions. It's been great for running and mountain biking, and for me works in a wide range of temps from 30's to 50's, rain, wind, etc. Super lightweight, packs small, gives just the right amount of protection from wind and precip but breathable as well! It does soak through after about 15min of rain, so it may not have been the best for a 1.5hr run in 35F driving rain but I didn't freeze/soak either.

I would neve pay full price for this item, but at $40 for the pull over it's the right price. Think of it like a shirt that gives you some wind and water protection.

Thanks! Been looking at the super ds. Last season colors on sale. Not thrilled with the ghost whisperer.

It's not a matter of buying the name. It's about buying the performance. If you're not going to be lugging it on your back for hours you're wasting your money buying this sort of thing. You see something like this in town, you're in all probability looking at someone who sees the name as a fashion statement--and the fashion statement names are mostly North Face and Patagonia.

However, there are those of us who do lug it into the backcountry. Personally, I have been as much as 5 hours from civilization and there are plenty of people who go even farther. When you're doing things like that you have a different take on paying for quality. I own the hoody version, it's always in my pack. And while it's by no means windproof it certainly cuts the wind considerably for a lot less weight and bulk than anything else I own.

As for ugly--I haven't seen the pullover version to know. In it's intended use ugly isn't a big deal, though. We choose our gear based on how it performs, not how it looks.
