Interested in your take on 12.9 vs 11 and mini led... Torn between the two as well
$100 off the base model 11" is a better deal if 10% off better deal on more expensive option I was reading from all the techie guys that the mini led was a gimmick as the Oled like on the 12 pro is better but more pricey so Apple didn't use it. The mini led 12.9 is more expensive for Apple to repair $699 according to Apple website

Nobody knows it yet until we see a real-life comparisons. It's definitely not a gimmick and one of a kind display tech available on a consumer market today.

Spoiled consumers lol. Saving $150 with a coupon and Costco membership, but complaining about a $5 shipping charge LMAO

Would you rather buy the new iPad 11" 128gb for $650+tax, or an iPad Air 11" 4th gen 64gb w/ Magic Keyboard for $600?
Depends on your needs and how important the magic keyboard is for you. I went with M1 mainly because it can run laptop class software and for normal ipad apps, it's future proof for several years. 2020 ipad air is very good and will be able to run apps developed for ipad for another couple of years for sure (going by my ipad air from 7 years ago which slowed down after 3 years). We haven't seen true laptop class apps on ipad yet so take it with a grain of salt but A14 is no match for M1 based on benchmarks [cpu-monkey.com].

Apple Education Store has the same discount if buying directly from Apple is preferred.

If I dont have Costco membership, this $50 savings is not worth it since the cheapest membership costs $60, right? Unless I'd be able to get the $100 coupon

Probably not unless you were planning on buying things regularly from Costco anyway. It kind of makes sense if you viewed it as partially subsidizing a Costco membership. If you were able to get the $100 coupon, it makes more sense though I don't know if they give those to new members.

Can you run OSX on this since its essentially the same internals as a Macbook now?
It's unclear what Apple exactly plans. Technically, it can probably run OSX. However, Apple may just decide to port over some of the more high powered OSX apps to run on iOS on the iPad Pro.

I'm getting the feeling they're going to keep it OSX and iOS running on their current hardware platforms (eg. iOS on phones/iPads and OSX on laptops/desktops) to encourage people to buy a Macbook and an iPad. Hopefully, Apple can at least add some more multitasking capabilities to iOS going forward.

Apple gives the highest trade in prices if you are trading in on another ipad. Otherwise, the same.

Best buy gives even less for it and with apple I would have to use the gift card only at the apple store NOT at costco but since I will be buying the macbook pro 14 inch once its available maybe I can just trade in in the apple store and use the credit on the macbook purchase when that comes out..with costco for any ipad purchase its 90 days right? I never bought an ipad from costco before..and with pre orders do they charge you right away or only when it ships..sorry for all the questions appreciate all the info you are giving me

100% facts just trade in with Apple $455 bucks trade in credit they gave me for my 2.5 year old 2018 11" 64GB 11" iPad Pro. That's $55 more than I was asking on Craigslist

I am in the same boat I wanted the 11" with mini led but they unfortunately didn't do it. I might just wait for it next year...
