So odd this monitor has great specs all around except the most important one for gaming. Should lead marketing as a 4k monitor instead, not as a "gaming monitor"

It's a $250 "gaming" monitor. It's good enough for most console gaming. Anything more than 60hz for 4K you are looking at at least $500-$600. Sure 1440p can be an option but ps5 doesn't support 1440p at the moment.

1. Just because it's 60hz, doesn't mean it's Not for gaming.
2. You'll need a 3080 to really take full advantage of high refresh rate monitors anyway. It's near impossible to get a 3080, let alone the other 30 series cards.
3. Those high refresh rate monitors are at least twice as expensive.
4. It's got 1ms response time. Response time is IMO more important than FPS/Hz. It might not be GTG response time, but tons better than other 4k monitors.
I wouldn't say I'm an expert about computers, so please let me know if I'm wrong.

You're wrong!
I barely game, mostly coding and I require at least 75 Hz, but if you can't tell the difference between 60 and 75 on a 1080p monitor... my bad...
I have a 165hz monitor and Ive run Control (the game) at 60fps and 100fps and I can't tell the difference. If you're playing esport games, it's gonna matter, but single player games really don't need more than 60fps IMO. If you're playing esports games you are at most playing on a 1440p monitor.

I owned a FHD Viewsonic 144hz monitor briefly (wound up returning it because it was 24" and I decided I wanted 27"), but wow...what a difference >90 FPS makes.

60FPS is still a good experience, don't get me wrong, but there is absolutely a difference once you go beyond 90-100 FPS.

A 4k 60hz gaming monitor is probably more ideal for console players or people who play single player. With DLSS, you can play 4k above 60 fps. Now, for people hating or disliking this deap because it's 60hz, show us a link for a 4k k 144hz monitor under 600 or 700 hundred....

I am using this for my dual monitors right now. It's not for gaming, but I am happy with the price for it's size, 4k, ips and brightness.

ips is much more comfortable than VA for coding.

1. spoken like someone whos never seen the difference between 60 and 120hz gaming. Its not just for "competitive" it makes casual gaming much smoother.
2. Hundreds of thousands sold. My 3080 runs 4k at 150fps, ive heard the 3070s push 120. Even getting 90 in 4k is MAJOR improvement on 60 let alone 30 on consoles.
3. the ones that go above 120 are always more expensive. 120 is the sweet spot right now and plenty affordable for 2k and manufactures have set out to make 4k 120 affordable by 2021/2022
4. 5ms-10ms is plenty playable, oleds with 20ms are great for 4k games. once again 1ms is for competitive gaming. I think you fail to comprehend the niche.

i play a few games competitively but not pro. I have a 1440 p 1ms monitor. Ill take a 5-10ms 4k with 120, ANY DAY if its affordable. It probably wont be till next year
Basically the 1ms is decent but contradicts the point of 60 mhz. if it would be better if it was 120 mhz and higher ms
