Not sure why you are trying compare IEM with over head cans.
Proper comparison should be with other mid-level BA(Balanced Armature) IEM set as Shure, Westone or Campfire etc.
I own for some time ER4XR and trade them due to need deep insertion to achieve proper seal. Also ER4XR made in USA and ER3XR in China. Good luck with warranty issues, not the best company to deal with.

Huge difference of category there mate.
I personally don't have Fidelio x2hr. I do have a Sennheiser HD590, HE400i, Denon AHD2000, AHD1200. The biggest difference is the soundstage. You just can't compare with a moderately good open headphone with a earphone. Now I don't have a high end earphone to compare so I am strictly talking about ER2XR and ER3XR. I do like to listen to ER3XR sometimes due to its clarity and its size. When I am at work and typing? Er3xr all the way.

For Samsung Buds Plus. I haven't tried it so I can't comment. I can't imagine a BT earbud having a better sound than ER3XR tho. Now ER3XR does not have a heavy bass. It has a very tight bass with precise sound. So it really comes down to a preference. Most people would not think ER3XR has a great bass. And I think most people use BT earbuds for its ease of use rather than its sound. I have a separate BT receiver for just earphone use. I really want the days when phones had 3.5mm jacks.

And trust me, there will be nothing better than this at $70. Maybe SHP9500?

Etymotics have been on sale quite a bit in adorama. Er2se is still on sale for $49. Er3se was $69 in March. While I wish they have Er2xr on sale, this is a pretty good deal for the Er3 series, if you're looking for them.

Dang. If you are wanting a new earphone. Get this. No question at $69.
This was even better than my Denon AH D1200 headphone(Kind of letdown really for that headphone) for any purposes.
There is a lot of comparison between this and ER2XR. I got them both. 3XR is much better. At this price. No question.

I still check Etymotic's website every now and then to see if they've come out with a pair of true wireless earbuds. My ER4s were my favorite earbuds for a long while, but after using the WF-1000XM3 and AirPods Pro, I don't think I can get used to having a wire again. If you're looking for a great pair of wired earbuds, look no further. You'd be hard pressed to find something better for this price.
