Anyone with experience with this and the iRobot Roomba i8+ Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal (Item 3877550 - Model i855020 - https://www.costco.com/irobot-roo...0738.html) have any thoughts regarding the postitives/negatives of both?

I think Roomba still uses camera technology instead of Lidar... that to me is reason enough to stay away

Lidar is far superior to camera only systems

The deebot combines lidar for mapping with a camera for going around items like dog poopz

That said roomba auto dispose works well... Last I checked the deebot have reviews where people stated the dustbin would get clogged every so often

What is the Deebot manufacturer warranty?

Is this the lowest price historically for this bundle?

Costco had this for $599 back in December... I'm still waiting for that deal to come back. This is still an excellent price but I'm waiting for better. Hope that helps!

$700 is hard to swallow when there are better, cheaper robots out there. Buy the current s5 Max deal. Empty your own vac bin and save hundreds.

I do not believe the S5 Max has obstacle avoidance, though. If it did I'd bite.

I have the ecovacs and really like what it does. I have a 3500sq ft single story house with hardwood and carpet.... And maybe most importantly, a boxer. Vac mode is great. Mop mode is great but understand that when you have the mop on, it will not do carpet. I end up running mop mode once or twice a week on 1500ish (as reported by the robot) and that's about it's limit for the attached tank.

Where mine doesn't do a super fantastic job is the auto empty. Just set your expectations. When the bin on the robot is very full (packed) the bin won't get sucked out and I have to manually empty it. The solution I came up with? Run it more frequently.

I'm extremely happy with it. App is decent and it seems that once you get your fences setup the automap works fantastic and mine runs very very well at night with no lights on.

Do we know what is included in the package bundle? Also what is the difference between this and https://www.costco.com/ecovacs-de...55431.html
Other than the empty bin

Btw, I just got one too, I missed using my $100 off $500 coupon (yes stupid me!) before it expired so I called customer service and they provided with another but it was $50 off.. nonetheless, better to have $50 off than wait for the $599 price from December to come back again… Smilie
Also, they price match just in case it drops further within 3 months of my order date!

I got the older model, i must say the software is unreliable. If you want the hassle to always setup the new map get this one.

How are you liking it? I see these on Facebook for like $300-$400 new or like new. Contemplating trying to get one for about $300. I have carpet only in bedrooms and realllllly just want it to do get those hard to reach areas and a pass through vinyl flooring every so often.

I like it so far… since it's my first robot vacuum, so definitely better than vacuuming yourself multiple times a week… A few points to note:
- Check the furniture height and if it has sufficient space for the vacuum to enter those hard to reach areas.. for me in the living room it was able to get under the sectional but not the loungers. For the bedroom it vacuumed under the bed without any issues
- The map it created in the first pass was near perfect, given I took most of the obstacles out of the way.. even though seeing how the Deebot was moving in the first pass at many instances I thought it'd fail
- The rotating brushes on the side tend to really love any wires on the floor ( I have the Phillips hue play bar and my router on the floor) and it got stuck a couple of times, but if you create a no-go zone then you'd be alright.
- Vacuuming is good and suction is decent (can change in settings) for both wooden (laminate) and carpet floors and I'm happy with the performance
- Alexa integration works well and you can mention which room/area to clean as well

Only one thing I'm still testing out is the auto emptying feature… whenever it vacuums a carpeted floor, it's not able to auto empty the bin completely at one go, so I manually click auto emptying the second time from the App. Maybe this is just because of the initial runs, but let's see….
