After 48 hours they get back to me saying they need more info. They are asking for the same documents I already provided. Seems like I am stuck in a gov't snafu. Congrats to those who got it.

Got an approval, but the ID doesn't match what I had already created?

Apparently its moot since my ISP (Wide Open West) tells me if I add the $50 EBB to my account I will lose any discounts I already have. I have loyalty discounts that are more than $50 so for me it would be a net loss.

Doesn't seem correct to me since this is a government program to provide temporary relief related to the pandemic and I qualify. I'd like to file a complaint with the FCC but can't figure out how.

The goal of the telecoms, in relation to this EBB program, is to create as many NEW accounts as possible (without loyalty or other discounts).

Without this EBB program many disadvantaged households would never even signup for broadband.

This program is an opportunity for the telecoms to generate additional revenue and marketshare, however temporary they may be.

Maybe the government will learn from this mistake, future programs should have rules against companies removing existing customer discounts or forcing migration to higher price tiers in order to participate in a subsidy program.

Does anybody know how to get the $100 credit for a new computer?
According to the comprehensive provider list link on page 1, it shows that the majority of the providers don't offer a connected device (desktop, laptop, tablet) discount.

For example, Verizon and AT&T do not offer it in multiple states that they have a presence in.

The specific details of this discount is not clearly stated on the EBB program's website.
More government ineptitude.

I am trying to help a relative get a decent laptop or tablet so they can have Internet access.
No luck.

My relative is on a fixed income and currently homebound due to an injury (being in the middle of a pandemic of course doesn't help).

They qualify for the EBB program and can get basic broadband service at a reasonably low monthly price from their local telecom.

The screen size on a smartphone is not adequate for their needs, so they definitely need a tablet or laptop for the bigger screen.

It would be great if they can get a discounted device from their telecom too.
