Reviews from last year on Steam talk about game-breaking bugs, such as crashing when beginning the "Dune Sea" mission, with no way to progress past that.

The last time the Steam version was updated was May 2020. Who knows if the Switch version been patched since then?
Also, it's not so much risking wasting your money, it's risking your time and effort on a game that potentially stops working partway through.
Its $1.99 and I have $0.78 in points. I'm willing to risk it.

Seems like even on switch version that game breaking bug is there:

If you save the money and not get this, think of it as a bigger savings for the next game on switch you buy Stick Out Tongue.

I love that the publisher must've discussed whether to boost sales by having the well documented game breaking bug fixed or having a massive discount on it, and they chose the latter.

Nintendo and all the other companies charge quite a bit of change to push out updates for your products, so it is usually not worth it for smaller indie companies.

Its only been out for a little over a month so they could also just be getting a bunch of fixes together for one big update, but who knows.

They take a 30% cut on digital purchases AND fleece devs for pushing an update? Gross.

Steam does not though so if it's still not patched on PC, that's on them. Source: I have published four steam games back in 2007 and since have patched them like five times to add things like updated resolutions and unlocked the FPS. I get less than 100 sales a year and they sell under 2 bucks so if it were to cost then I wouldn't have updated it. Just did it for fun/boredom.

Pretty sure the consoles still do though.
