$430 and it still has Altus? Oof.
Altus is plenty functional, but that 1x7 drivetrain is going to provide a very narrow gear range.
Only one frame size (18") and I wouldn't buy their "fits most riders" BS. If you're tall, the seat is going to be way high in relation to the bars and if you're short, the reach to the bars will be too long. There's a good reason that bike shop bikes come in numerous different sizes and you can't just adjust seat height to comfortably accommodate different riders.
In addition to the more obvious deficits to this; the tires will only reduce so much impact - especially with no complimentary shock systems - so replacing the seat with a more cushioned one helps.
And if you live in a higher salt area, like coastal areas; get some clear coat on it asap. This bike rusts from day one in those conditions.

Waste of money. To me it is expensive for the cheap components they put in all around. Spend a little more and get a bike with quality components that will last and more importantly get a bike that will fit well your body.

this is much better than any walmart bike posted here before. it should be a decent bike that will last a long time.
however if you are going to get into mountain biking look into spend at least 800 for something that you can grow into and that will also last you for years to come.
For winter biking I have fewer gears. In my experience frames don't corrode much if you wipe them down pretty regularly. Cassettes corrode no matter how often you clean them. I prefer to have fewer components to replace or repair on my winter bike.
Strange thing about fat bikes is they're not all overpriced like most other bikes right now. I saw bike-shop brand fat bikes in the dead of winter for about this price or less.
Still a good post. Not everyone has access to good bike shops.

Nothing wrong with a 1x drivetrain, most fat bikes and modern mountain bikes have them. But this bike has only a 7 speed freewheel that looks like a 13-28 tooth, while better bikes will have an 11 or 12 gear cassette with a range of 10-51 teeth.
I can't tell what size the front ring is, but riders of this bike will probably find that either the low gear isn't low enough for climbs in the dirt/snow or that the top gear is too slow.

I sheared off the seat tube on its collar. So don't plan to extend the seat height to max and expect nothing to happen.
I'll not buy a undersize bike even if it's cheap. Simply PITA and feels like crap when bike geometry doesn't fit
This was $299 in warehouse in Mar when i spotted it first time, seems costco does charge $100 or more for online items(i was checking for sofas and i see the difference).
