I'm not sure if this is available everywhere, but I do see that it's available for shipping, so it might be. This is a good way to get RTX 3080 now as I can pick it up tomorrow.

Example 1 isn't even available for purchase yet. Says "Coming Soon".

Example 2 is nearly $400 more than the ASUS ROG from Best Buy.

This one is probably a better deal but also had 2 months wait time. Also no 3rd party offers to sweeten the deal when buying from Cyberpower. Many people used Amex/Chase offers when buying from Best Buy, not to mention cashback and Best Buy rewards.
2 month wait time is $500 on Nicehash.

So what's the verdict here? Not worth it because of the air cooling?

You don't need 3rd party offers to sweeten the deal when the CyberPower/IBuyPower deals are 10% less than Dell or Best Buy to begin with Wink
It's more like 5% less. However Dell has had $100 off $500 Amex offers and chase had 5% back up to $100 offers. Then add 4-7% cashback and 4% back in Dell Rewards. Oh also you get it a month sooner. You can even use both the Amex and chase offer on the same desktop. Pay $500 on the Amex and get $100 back and pay the remaining amount on the Chase and get 5% back on that.

I know all about the cash back and $100 Amex on Dell, I used it to buy a AMD W5700 Smilie

My 3080 CyberPowerPC build was $1825. I don't remember seeing any 3080 from Dell at that price, extra offers or not.

Regardless, I'd rather have non-proprietary parts that you get from the other SI's or Best Buy.

Not in my opinion.

Better off waiting for BB to have the CyberPowerPC or ASUS Strix pre-builts with 3080s for $1999. Those will use standard parts inside, giving you more options than a proprietary Dell system.

Or, you can order a pre-built all day long from IBuyPower or CyberPowerPC w/3080 for around $1899, although there is a 6-8 week lead. Again, no proprietary parts.
Can you link a build that you think works well / has enough cooling?

Pick any PC in a 'standard' size case. There are too many variables to link to a specific build. Just anything other than this Dell. A replacement CPU cooler helps, and if you plan on mining, then all bets are off regarding cooling Smilie

I bought one of the asus ROG 3080 prebuilts and it is crap quality compared to the dell. Keep an eye out for an alternative.
I agree.. The ASUS ROG built is AWFUL!! I mean, Best Buy should just not carry it it is that bad. It sounds like a damn jet is taking off!!

Glad to see someone chime in with actual ASUS ROG PC experience. I had to install 4 extra fans in the piece of junk, and forced to use tie wraps since there is no facility to mount anything properly. Removing the cheap plastic panels was a joke and I even had to cut some of the plastic case points to avoid interfering with the arctic fans. My wife thought I was going to toss it in the swimming pool half way though the task.
Call it crazy, but would take the Dell over the ASUS any day. Not to mention any other reasonably designed case option.
On the plus side, they are both mining away happily but the ASUS is simply cheap materials. I was able to get a reasonable deal price wise by using the 10% birthday coupon, so not too salty overall. Oh, and the CPU fan cooling looks sketchy too.
If you have this PC or looking to purchase one, enjoy, but for sure there are way better alternatives out there.

This was the better deal about a month ago: https://slickdeals.net/f/14907398-dell-alienware-aurora-r12-desktop-i7-11700f-8gb-ddr4-256gb-ssd-rtx-3080-2026-or-less-w-sd-cashback-pc-req-d?v=1

Same specs as this but had 1000w, liquid cooled CPU, dark side case, just 512gb NVME for about $2k w/ CA tax and shipping. Yes gets hot, will need to change/add fans and thermal paste/pads on GPU. Mining 94-99 Mh/s at 88-94C in SoCa weather.
What thermal paste or pads did you use on the GPU? I have the case opened up, but the memory junction temperature shoots up to 102 degrees instantly.

Noctua NT-H2, but really most any paste will likely perform within a couple degrees of each other.
