$100 off the usual price. Not quite as good as the $150 gift card deal before Christmas, but stacks nicely with the $100 off $500 coupon.

Best Buy also has it for $1349.99 without the bundle if you prefer the Geek Squad warranty with burn in protection ($299.99) - https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-4...Id=6416732
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

This is only ideal if you need to fit a smaller TV or plan to use it as a large monitor. In any other case, you should get the 55".

It doesn't "cost more" to make 48 vs 55. The way the manufacturing is set up, they cut 48 w/ 77 on the same panel instead of 55 w/ 65.

The combo of 55/65 sizes are more popular than 48 and 77. So supply becomes limited on 48/77, they keep prices high, run less sales, and demand settles where it does.

They can always lower price on 48's and 77's if they wanted to shift consumer demand in that direction a bit, but they don't need to. 48 is fairly popular among some gaming folks and they are willing to pay for a 4K 120Hz display w/ freesync/gsync. 77 is also serving the premium market of folks wanting high end large displays.

Internally, they likely track sales closely and segment 55/65 as their mainstream products, 48/77 as their premium paying market.
like the other person said, the upgrade is so minor that one can safely buy a CX and not be worried about it. In fact some reviews showed the CX to be brighter.

I was also planning on a C1. But got a CX 55 from bestbuy for $1349 with 5 year warranty. Also just got the free bluetooth speaker in from the promo LG is running. They sent me a PL7 speaker worth $130-180.

Best deal right now is finding the cheapest CX you can find and then get the free speaker through the promo.
Convenience. I believe the 48 came out after the 55. The 55 was frequently cheaper than the 48.

From a manufacturer's stand point, I believe they are able to produce more displays at the 55 inch size than the 48 which leads to lower costs.

They're coming out with a 43" model, do we know if it will be any cheaper? Right now I'm using a 48" Samsung as a monitor, I think 43" would probably be better.

I am thinking $1299.99 for the 43". Can't find any info on it right now, but $200 less than the 48" seems about right.

Guys have a question, I want to buy one of these (55" )OLED TV for a Computer monitor. I will buy in a heart beat. But the question is I have an older computer with a 1080 card in it. I have a brand new computer I'm building right now which is 80% done. The only thing missing is the 3080 GTX card. ( Go figure ) So with the older machine how do you think it will look? I have the 77 inch model of this in my living room and it's kick ass! Thanks for the responses.

you'll be limited in terms of refresh rate with the 1080. Otherwise same experience bar hdmi 2.1 support..

1080 up-scaling should be decent enough till you get the 3080 for 4k. I am also waiting for a 3080 to be in stock somewhere. Smilie

Ended up getting the 55" just now.

Trying to hold back for the 43" as I think that would be better as a computer monitor. Is even happening?

I am in the exact same boat, having a CX 77 in the living room and now wants a 48" for my computer with 1080ti.

Problems with 1080 connecting to a CX:

1) does not have HDMI2.1. I connected to my CX 77 in living room and can only get up to 4K HDR @60Hz (RGB) or 4K@100Hz without HDR (YCbCr 422). Anything above that is not supported.

I've also seen strange things like in Avenger's game, there are unbearable lagging and frame drops (15fps) when on 4K, but stable 60fps at 1440p, which suggests it's not a problem of the rendering power, but probably some compatibility issues again with the old HDMI interface.

2) no VRR at all. 1080 only supports g-sync on the DisplayPort, none at its HDMI port. So you will need to turn on the Vsync in games to prevent screen splits again.

With a HDMI2.1 cable (works with my XSX/PS5 to the CX), I can see the screen tears every now and then without Vsync. HDR seems to increase the burden of the data rate a lot. But I'm reluctant to turn it off because it's what shines on the CX from my gsync monitor.

With that in mind, using a CX/C1 with 1080 is quite limited. So I'm still using my 38" Ultrawide monitor which supports 120Hz G-Sync for now, until my new PC arrives in July (fingers crossed). I figure I'll just get the 48" after the 3080, since there is no solid date of when I can get hold of it. Plus the 48" sales are only $100~$150 off. Doesn't hurt to wait.

48 inch fits most yachts in the bed room or large motorhomes.

Has there actually been a manufacturer that has said they'll make 42" though? LG Display announced the 42" panel, but LG Electronics isn't using it in their 2021 lineup. Doesn't look like Sony is either. Vizio maybe but I don't think I'd buy a Vizio OLED.

For people considering use as a monitor. I hear there is no standby mode which is really a pain since you have to use the remote to turn it on and off

My C8 has the ability to turn off the display only (audio still works) when using the speech activated command button on the remote. "Turn off the TV screen" or "Turn the TV screen off" something along those lines. Same with these models?

You're absolutely right. The CX and CX are basically the same. Hit it on the nose.
