I never finished it. Failed to grab me with character and story development. Didn't really care much about the story or the characters to pick it back up and finish.

Oh darn, then it's definitely a no for me. I love star wars but jumping into a star wars book series with authors that can just do whatever they want doesnt seem like a good idea.

Light of the Jedi suffers from "first book in the series-itis." There's a lot of worldbuilding and we're introduced to an entirely new cast of characters, both of which most SW books don't have to do nearly as much. I enjoyed it for what it was.

FYI - same prices on Google Play for:

Light of the Jedi [google.com] ($2.99)

and

Into the Dark [google.com] ($0.99)

Hope this helps

I finished part 1 of it, but there hasn't been much pulling me to finish part 2.

Anyone know how Into the Dark is? I remember enjoying Lost Stars and Bloodlines.

Weird, I've read both of these and the other high republic one that was more oriented toward kids. I enjoyed the stories, especially with the different stories occurring during the same time frame and tying into one another somewhat.

I thought into the dark was very good. If you've enjoyed those other two books like I have then it's definitely right in line with what you probably expect out of a Claudia Grey book. I read both of those above novels and found into the dark to be a much better book but also echo the above posters comments about Light of the Jedi suffering from first book in a series syndrome. I would recommend reading into the dark and I would only recommend reading light of the Jedi if you're a fan of the Star Wars novels and don't want to miss a piece of the world building action of the high republic era. You get a lottttt of info and background about the Nihil with Light of the Jedi might might be invaluable background depending on whether future books repeat that background info or not.

Same. I bought the audiobook and some special hardcover edition and just couldn't give a damn about any of the characters.
