If you want to game, it's better to spend the extra $50 on the $600 HP that Walmart has.

They are a Ryzen 3500 (6-core) with a GTS 1650 Super. A 1650 Super is roughly twice the graphical performance of a 5700G.

Sadly, not available within the 100+ miles I checked. I was looking to spend more on parts for a very basic CHIA farming rig. This would have saved me time, cost and effort.

What else do you need to make this to a good chia farmer other than more HD?

That's my understanding, I've not done it in practice yet which is why this looked like such a good deal. Good processor, case, some expansion space for another internal HD or two, some USB slots if you want to add some external HDs, an OS, good speed ram. PSU and MB might not be the greatest but I think would work for this application.

It always grinds my gears when computers such as this one have a decent intergrated graphics processor but then knee cap it with single channel memory. Like seriously, they could have done 2 8GB sticks and get that memory bandwidth where it needs to be.

Just to note as it is mentioned: The PSU is a 310w Gold unit. So this is only rated for 87% efficiency at full load, or just 270 watts. The CPU is 65w. So yeah, a 200watt GPU is NOT gonna work. Even a 150watt GPU might push it. That only leaves 55w for the motherboard, memory, ram, disc drive and anything else you plug into it. I wouldn't go any higher than ~125watts myself.


You are better off getting the Dell XPS 8940 when it goes on sale if you want to game.

THen Add to cart, complete the checkout.

Pickup at store!

You'll get the 2 to 1 points after a few days after the transaction has been completed and processed by Chase. I usually get an email saying the bonus points have been earned.
If you are missing points, call Chase and tell them you're missing points from that transaction.

This unit is a huge fail for HP. How do they release a desktop with one HDMI port in 2021. I am not using VGA for my second monitor since it cannot even do 1440p and it is analog. What a joke HP. I am canceling my order. I don't even think they enabled display port alternative mode on the Type C port in order to do video out using that port. I am so done with HP.

This barely supports two monitors since I don't find VGA out in 2021 as monitor support. I would say it supports 1.5 monitors.
