If you want to game, it's better to spend the extra $50 on the $600 HP that Walmart has.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Pav.../943933730

They are a Ryzen 3500 (6-core) with a GTS 1650 Super. A 1650 Super is roughly twice the graphical performance of a 5700G.

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...5260vs4058

It looks like Walmart's website sells out of these very quickly and only 3rd party sellers are listed there. But if you can find them at your local store they are sold for $599.

That is almost identical to Tyzen 5 5600X, 22210, with 3383 single thread cpumark.
But this one has 2 more cores and 4 more thread. I wonder if single channel really slow down the performance?
I think you are right. With 2 sticks Gskill at 2133 speed, multi-thread score goes above 24000.

If you're not a gamer. This is a really good system. The CPU is very nearly the top of the line.

The ssd capacity is a bit low at 256gb in my opinion, but if may be enough for your usage.

The only only other drawback is the more proprietary parts so it'll be more hassle to diagnose and fix if a part malfunctions.

I still think it's worth it for non-gaming uses. You're unlikely going to be able to build/find another system with this processor at this price.

I just put a 2TB nvme ssd in my ryzen 5 4500u lenova ideapad3 and pulled out the 512GB ssd (which is gamer certified..it's fast) so I'd be able to upgrade it from the 256gb without issue. I even purchased a nvme pci adapter so I could preload Manjaro linux on it and keep the original ssd as a backup. I went ahead and dropped the dime on it and already got the text it's "ready for pickup". Now I just have to shop for ram.

Any recommended cpu cooler that would fit w/o removing the MB? Maybe a Noctua NH-L9x65 ?

If you are going to change the heatsink, may as well max out the size you can fit in the case and remove the mobo to check clearance. So, no, I don't have any recommendations. You need to do your measurements and own research.

Anyone already have this and know the exact manufacturer/model/timing of the existing 16gb DDR4-32000 that's already in there? If the prices are close I'd like to find an identical stick.

Rep'd. TY.

In the quick look I did I found compatible memory at $75 and that exact stick going for $88-93 so worth getting same stick.

I got one of these. I tried 2x8gb 3200 sticks of GSKILL from another computer (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB). They kind of worked but not at 3200. The speed dropped to 2133 and there is no way to adjust that (enable xmp) in bios. Still, they helped a LOT with graphics performance. I ran Unigine Heaven benchmark on defaults and got 24 fps on stock 1 dimm at 3200, and that increased to 33.5fps on 2 sticks at 2133.
I am thinking that GSKILL requires 1.35v voltage and this mobo only runs at 1.2v. So, I ordered another stick of 1.2v 16GB 3200 TEAMGROUP TED416G3200C2201 to see if that will work at 3200. Fingers crossed. I suspect that would bump up graphics even higher.
HP only allows XMP to run if you buy your sticks from them (and they are really overpriced), anything else is forced to run at 2133, apparently they whitelist which RAM modules allow XMP. This is my experience on an HP Ryzen Omen 25L from another deal.
The BIOS is extremely limited (you can't manually adjust timings/frequency or anything). However, one workaround is to use Ryzen Master, which will let you apply new RAM settings. Might be worth giving a try.

My friend just bought this desktop. Which monitor is the best for this computer ? This desktop cannot run 4K monitor right ?

He bought a GIGABYTE - AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT EAGLE 12GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Gaming Graphics Card from Best Buy. Is it easy to install this graphic card in this desktop? We are not computer expert…just checking to see whether it is easy to install..
Model: GV-R67XTEAGLE
I have one connected to a 4k monitor with no issues at 60hz.

I have a very similiar system (HP tg01-0023w) which HP lists as having the width.

I was able to fit in a Noctua NH-D9L with maybe 10mm of clearance remaining to the side panel. I think Noctua NH-U9S would fit as well, but with very very very little clearance.

To install, I used the existing backplate and mounted the bracket using m3-0.5 x 20mm screws and m3 split washers from Home Depot. I tried using 12mm long screws at first and it was not long enough. You can see the process here: https://youtu.be/KIm0SHtfErw?t=437

Yeah but max it's gonna do using hdmi port is 1920x1080 (1080P)....it won't show true 4k resolutions but it will downscale. Not that I'd notice since I typically don't save movies at anything higher than 1080p from ota due to file size.

I assume "Ryzen Master" requires windows. Anything similar for linux?

There is one in stock near me, and I was ready to jump on it. This 1x16GB RAM configuration and two open SATA ports work well for me. All I'd need to do is add a 16GB stick of RAM and move my storage drives in, and I am good to go. But the useless HDMI+VGA output ports absolutely kill the deal. And no way around it: Adding even a discrete GPU card is a waste of an excellent iGPU. Mad

Ahh the good old days when you could pick up a dell 400sc for $299 which was ultra expandible...for example had both IDE AND sata ports which at the time was a big deal.
You can still pick up a Dell 400sc for a lot less than $299 if that is what you consider the good ole days.

What I don't get is if you are gonna put it a top of a line cpu why limit the memory to 32gb? Why not already allow for up to 64gb?
