Ace has liquid chlorine for $3 with Ave rewards card. With chlorine being hard to come by due to the shortage this seems like a good deal to me

wrong.

Most tabs are stabilizing using Cyanuric acid, which you need a little of. But over time it builds up and reduces the effectivity of chlorine.

And the only way to remove the acid is to drain the pool.

at 10%, a gallon of this contains about 1.2lbs of chlorine.

local store when it had stock was listing its sale price for tabs at $3 per lb. but those tabs are 90% chlorine.

IE local pool stores sale price for tablets = 3.33 per lb of chlorine
ACE = ~2.5 per lb of chlorine
Probably has nothing to do with a pandemic and hoarding of sanitizing materials using trichhlor, or that the largest trichhlor manufacturing plant in the country, which produces about 35-40% of domestic supply, was destroyed last year by Hurricane Laura.

Pretty good price. Ocean State Job Lot has 12.5% chlorine for $14/case of 4 everyday, so pretty comparable. Seems the tablets are the only price that is jacked right now.

This is sodium hypochlorite 10%.

I think the shortage is for the chlorine tabs. Seems that there are plently of liquid chlorine everywhere.

Use salt. Cheaper and effective.

So I purchased like 33 gallons of the stuff and did the SD extension thingie for 2.5% back, but I dont see anything on the tracker. Says to wait 2 days to show?

Edit: NM, just saw the fine line on main Op thread above about 2 weeks. NP.

Oh, forgot, no need for an Ace reward card, its $2.99 for everyone. Sale item.

I had a graveled section next to my raised beds in the corner where no one can see that kept getting weeds. I pulled what I could, weed whacked it low and laid AstroTurf over it. It's worked out pretty good, 90% less weeds and I didn't salt the earth in case I want to plant grass eventually.
