Most tabs are stabilizing using Cyanuric acid, which you need a little of. But over time it builds up and reduces the effectivity of chlorine.
And the only way to remove the acid is to drain the pool.
at 10%, a gallon of this contains about 1.2lbs of chlorine.
local store when it had stock was listing its sale price for tabs at $3 per lb. but those tabs are 90% chlorine.
IE local pool stores sale price for tablets = 3.33 per lb of chlorine
ACE = ~2.5 per lb of chlorine

I think the shortage is for the chlorine tabs. Seems that there are plently of liquid chlorine everywhere.

Will this kill weeds in a flower bed??
granny has given me the go ahead and i'm looking for a cheap and total kill zone for years. The weather/sun will be hot (80F) in my area, this week

Use salt. Cheaper and effective.

big bags of winterize salt for the road or sidewalk or table salt? the bed is nothing but 8 inches of weeds. 25 feet x 3 feet
Whatever is cheaper. Youre not going to eat it.
Edit: NM, just saw the fine line on main Op thread above about 2 weeks. NP.
Oh, forgot, no need for an Ace reward card, its $2.99 for everyone. Sale item.
I had a graveled section next to my raised beds in the corner where no one can see that kept getting weeds. I pulled what I could, weed whacked it low and laid AstroTurf over it. It's worked out pretty good, 90% less weeds and I didn't salt the earth in case I want to plant grass eventually.
You don't know me. You don't know how I like my salt.
