They are not usually worth the price they are asking, but at these prices (if you are ok with the color) they are pretty much a very good deal. It works like any other insulated bottle though. You're just getting a more luxury brand.... which is all the rage in modern society.

Costco 2 pack 40oz bottles goes on sale from time to time for about $17. I only use it for room temp water so I can't comment on its ability to keep things cold/hot.

I've thought about getting these, seems like the oz size I want, but I want an even wider mouth. If I can't get my hand down in it to clean it, I don't want to bother. Wish they made a true wide-mouth version.

The coleman ones are priced extremely well and work great. I have like 5 or so hydroflasks and wanted something cheaper for work and these things work just as good. I have the autoseal one but I have seen tests on the screw on lid type one and that also performed exceptionally well. Like top 3 well for both of them.

Yes and yes. I own a lot of these types of bottles and the modified black 40oz is what I carry everyday.
Pros: ice lasts over 2 days depending on how cold it is outside and all of that. And filled with water it's not super heavy to carry. In a backpack it might weigh you down a little.
Cons: I feel like it dents easily. Mine is dinged up a little. They make a boot for it, but that won't help much depending on how it drops.
Another con is the mouth. If you fill it with ice and water as I do, it might splash on you. They make a splash guard to go inside for that which you can find on Amazon. Or you can do what I did and buy a Takeya lid for it. That lid is ok. It fits and no leaks or anything.

I owned a Camelbak Chute 32 Oz first and I carried that for over a year. Still love it, and would highly recommend that as an alternative. I actually like the lid on that more. I did drop is and it makes a noise like something is loose between the walls but it hasn't affected performance. I honestly feel like any double walled stainless steel bottle will give you similar results to a hydroflask, but I haven't done the research. I once watched a video of the influencer marketed iron flask and a hydroflask test and supposedly the iron flask was colder.

There's lots of good bottles out there. I think people raving about it keeping cold/hot havent experienced many insulated bottles before, or only the bare bones cheapest of the lot. The technology peaked a while ago.

I have several, and they all keep hot liquids hot for many several hours, or cold drinks too.

Targets in my area seem to have a lot of clearance bottles and sometimes I find a really good one for 7-10 bucks.

I have many different brands, not one has failed me yet.

Ive gotten Takeya from Costco (2- 40 oz. and 2- 24 oz.) and they worked great for me. What I like is that are lids with spouts versus the screw on lids for everyday use. When my wife and I travel we always bring our 40 oz. bottles. We've been to hot places like Costa Rica and Caribbean islands and our water stays ice cold (had them sitting in the car and out in the sun while at beach.) The lids do "sweat" with ice since they are plastic and that's where most of the temperature loss occurs so I bought a stainless steel screw on lid which helps a lot. I've read Hydroflasks perform slightly better but IMO it's a waste to spend the extra money for something I'm never going to see. The Takeya does what it needs to do in the amount of time I need it for. I bought my 2 - 40 oz. bottles for less than what this 32 oz. Hydroflask costs. I also have a two cheapy Ozark insulated tumblers (got them 2 for $10 thanks to SD) from Walmart that works great. I can't see myself spending like $20+ for one insulated tumbler from Hydroflask.

I'm really trying to avoid slickdeals drama and I've stopped responding to all these "my tumbler in the dishwasher is fine" comments. They didn't test with a thermometer and they're telling the people who did test that they're wrong. Smh
