They are not usually worth the price they are asking, but at these prices (if you are ok with the color) they are pretty much a very good deal. It works like any other insulated bottle though. You're just getting a more luxury brand.... which is all the rage in modern society.

Costco 2 pack 40oz bottles goes on sale from time to time for about $17. I only use it for room temp water so I can't comment on its ability to keep things cold/hot.

Are these really as good as people make them out to be? any good alternatives out there?
No. You can get two 40oz. ThermoFlasks from Costco for $18. And they are wonderful.

I'm really trying to avoid slickdeals drama and I've stopped responding to all these "my tumbler in the dishwasher is fine" comments. They didn't test with a thermometer and they're telling the people who did test that they're wrong. Smh

Anyways... What are you saying about my project farm comment? Are you saying I'm wrong? If you look at my comment, I said yes to his questions, both of them if that needs further clarification.

I probably need another nap
Haha you're right. Let's move on and have a good day.

These all work great. I have Hydroflask, two Thermoflasks (from Costco deal), and a Yeti water bottle. All three are great. I like using a straw attachment though, so for anyone who also wants to use a straw...the Hydroflask one is horrible. The Yeti one is the best I've tried, so I spent the extra money just for that. If I didn't need it, I would have stuck with the Hydro Flask for sure though.

Warning -- last time this deal popped up I bought the 40 oz which are still currently on sale.

I purchased a spearmint and a watermelon colored. Full disclosure I already have a 32 oz so wanted something bigger for my workday.

When I received the two 40 oz Hydroflasks you could VERY EASILY feel a "seam" / "fold" under the first layer of the bottle. If you run your hand around the outside it should be cylindrical, obviously. But with the 40 oz bottles you could feel the underneath layer was not properly cylindrical. It was very noticeable and out of place. I had 1 replaced and it was a little better but it was definitely a shock compared to the quality of my 32 oz.

Seems like a bunch of these flooded wholesale markets. These are available at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Burlington coat factory for varying prices. I think I saw it at $25? I also saw other sizes, like 20oz and food containers

Yes. People will come in here claiming that the Costco ones work just as well, but that hasn't been the case in my experience.
Exactly my thoughts. Poor choice. I once took it on road trip and had heated water in it in the afternoon. By night 🌙 the water was mildly warm.

Could it be those have imperfections?

These drink containers are also hit-or-miss with holding temperature. I previous bought a S'well brand that fit all my options: wide mouth cap (fits ice cubes too), 16oz, and green matte color. I found that it did not hold the cold temp with ice no longer than a few hours. I returned it back to the retail store for a replacement and the new one held the cold temp for over 20 hrs.

The Costco ones (They change the sizes every so often) are rebranded Takeya ones just to let people know.

The alternative ones work a lot better in some cases. But if you're buying this for your teenager you might need to have the Hydroflask name on it. They were all the rage for the high schoolers a few years ago and kids were stealing them from each other. When I was in high school we didn't have Hydroflasks so we all had to accessorize with a Sony Walkman.

Same experience for me - 2 Yetis, 2 Thermoflasks, and 1 HydroFlask. I use the HydroFlask the least because of how fragile it is. Dropped it from about 2 feet onto a laminate desk, and it looks like it got hit by a car. Dropped my Yeti from 4 feet into concrete, and it just has a couple of small dents and scratches.

Performance wise, they're all the same except HydroFlask isn't dishwasher safe and it's pretty weak. They all have minor flaws as well, but I find I use my Yeti and Thermoflasks the most.

For the price, you CANNOT beat Thermoflask.

I have one of these, and it's good for sure. However, the "knockoffs" are the exact same. I also have a Hydro Cell bottle which came from Amazon, and it's the same thing (but cheaper).

I'm sorry but if you only use the bottles for room temp water, why bother getting insulated bottles at all?
Because it's not that much more expensive than a regular water bottle, has great built quality, and maybe one day it'll come in use with the insulated features?
