Love GN'R. Meeting Axl Rose and Angus Young after an AC/DC show in 2016 is still one of the most surreal moments of my entire life.

Does this book arrive much later than it's supposed to without any explanation and then abruptly stop after three pages?
Only if you order bottled water with it.

When interviewed, Axl Rose mentioned: "It took me twelve years to finish my first children's picture book. Now that I'm done, I can't wait to read another."

its always a good idea to introduce the music of junkies to children through whatever methods possible. Maybe we can get one of those kids' youtube channels to do Mr Brownstone

LOL. Yes. Let's avoid exposing our children to art done by drug addicts, and thereby exclude a vast amount of beautiful art and music and acting because from our children's library of experience, because we don't agree with something the artist did, unrelated to art.

On the long list of reasons why people become junkies, I bet "cuz I listened to Guns N' Roses or [insert some other rock band]" ranks extremely low.

If one is against artists' works because they used drugs, there are a lot of excellent art (music, books, paintings, movies, and TV) that people should not be enjoying. Most artworks are really not gateways to drug abuse.

BTW, Mr Brownstone the song is about how drug addiction is bad. There is nothing in the song that celebrates drugs. If anything, it is a warning against drug abuse. In fact, Axl Rose, GNR's lead singer, talked about how drug abuse was screwing up the band. If there is anything to be learned from GNR's experience, it is that drug addiction sucks.

laugh out loudlaugh out loud children are definitely mature enough to read into all art the most appropriate meanings and lessons LMAOLMAO I'm not even sure 40 year olds are.

As for the prevalence of drug abuse, theres a difference between a group that celebrates and elevates abuse of drugs (out of context and rarely seen interviews notwithstanding), and those that attempt to divorce the art from the addiction (for the most part). Even a Van Gogh may have been heavily under the influence, but it isn't generally a glorified theme of his work. I never understood why Eric Clapton's "Cocaine" was played on the radio so heavily, I mean, its not even a good song!

Either way, I think we can all agree that there are a disturbing number of people (both with and without success) that said they tried/abused drugs because it seemed like everyone successful (at least in the music world) were also drug abusers. I've never quite understood the attitude of not protecting children as much as possible. They will lose their innocence at some point, and never get it back. Why rush it?
