This is the new Vostro refresh for 2021 and Inspiron 5000 series will also be refreshed with the same hardware.
  • The i7 model has Thunderbolt 4. So, this one has Thunderbolt 4. The i5 version has only USB 3.2 Gen 2 with Data, Display and Power Delivery.
  • The Display on this one is that 220 nits 45% NTSC IPS Panel. It has a 300 nits 100% sRGB version but this one is not that one.

Wow 220 nits. I don't remember the last time I've seen a screen like that.

dang that sucks, 220nits screen this would been a good option for me. To bad you couldnt customize it to like a 4k screen as well to solve that garbage display problem.

How much better is the graphics card than the built in XE graphics?

220 nits is no great shakes. 400 - 500 nits is the high bar to reach.

MX450 is about 20% to 25% faster than the XE in the i5 (80 EUs) and about 10% faster than the XE in the i7 (96 EUs)

True! Dim nits are for dim wits! Nothing less that 500 nits for me. That way I can use it at 15% brightness and get longer battery life! Also, I can crank it up to microwave popcorn and be seen from outer space by aliens when they come to take me home. laugh out loud

Also depends on the TDP design of the system. Dedicated graphics cards are a lot less likely to throttle than the APUs. 25W to the GPU + 20-25W to the CPU vs maybe 30-35W boost with a 28W average TDP for an APU

that said, I'm pretty sure the MX450 is around 30-40% faster than the 96 EU XE which was similar to the older 350
