why the heck is the payment getting flagged, apple card declined to pay merchant and my us bank went through but I got a sms asking to confirm the I approved the purchase, pretty weird

Cell purchases at this amount are very sensitive. I had a couple issues with fraud alert, but got it to go through. Second order was Paypal using balance+CC and it went on the first try.

Ordered one. Quick question though: can I just cancel the visible service after I receive a phone? I'm going to use this phone with my cricket sim card right out the box so I just don't want them to charge me for activation fee and all that.

if you be with them for 2 months you'll get 200$ master card, after than you can port out. even with charges you can save more than 100

If you don't activate, you will save only $25 (first month) + $25 (if you join a party of 4, which you can easily get in Slickdeal or Reddit), however, you will lose $200 Gift Card + Nimble Wireless Charger. So think again about what you want to do.
