Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

If you haven't sent in your old trade-in phone yet (no way to get it back) then it's worth a shot. Bring it back to a retail location, be prepared for a possible time consuming, painful interaction with the store rep and hope for the best.

Small price to pay for returning if you can save the $415 from previous half-off deal.

Guys anyone looking to buy iphone 8 for this trade-in deal?
Just saw Boost mobile selling reconditioned iphone 8 for $149..That's the cheapest option I could find online.
eBay ,Swappa, FB marketplace are all around 175-200 for iphone 8 in mint condition
Kindly share if you are aware of other options.
Did you buy it? I need to get an 8 as well thx

I got the A71 5G during the last free line promo with anticipation of using it here so it's on the 24 month promo itself. Can I pay it off, have bill credits continue coming in and then trade it in for the free iPhone 12?

Yes, I do it all the time. Pay off a phone, sell it on swappa and find a cheap trade in to start over. Bill credits keep rolling.

I called Boost in store and they said you have to activate to buy it.
You can buy it online but doubt it would get here this weekend.

I'm wondering if any users of the Pro models can advise on the lidar-scanner functionality. I'm interested in determining if the price differential ($170) could be justified by the room scanning functionality. I'd like to gain access to the Canvas functionality promised, but would be interested in hearing about other users' experiences to determine if this is something that could justify the incremental spend.

Good luck!

My concern here is that it won't come in time to do the promo. But if you buy from Swappa, even for a few bucks more, you instantly get the IMEI so you can do the deferred trade in with TMo.

Most of us here don't want to add a line. This deal is a simple trade in for us.

But this isn't a whole new line. I don't even have t-mobile yet. This will be my first time with them and only 1 line.

Just called into TMO do this promotion. Deal is active now via call in. No local stores had Purple iPhone 12 in stock but they are available via call-in. New phones to arrive 2 business days.

Was able to do 2 (paid off) good condition phones. Existing customer with older (6 line) Simple Choice North America Plan - did not have to add a line.
Compared this Mothers Day Promo to just "upgrading" on the account and it appears the Mothers Day Promotion is a better way to go (it was confusingly explained to me as to why promo was better but no real price difference though as you still get the $830 credit less trade-in value).

So I traded an iPhone 8 Plus 64GB:
$830 Credit - $99 (Estimated Trade in Value) = $731 promo credit / 24 months = $34.59 installment plan - $30.45 monthly bill credit for 24 months = $4.45 per month will be due. Was able to get shipping and "$20 Payment Support Fee" (whatever that is) waived after pressing CS agent.

Also traded an iPhone 11 64GB:
Similar deal with higher trade in value (not sure what he trade in will be doesn't really matter as whatever the trade value is - the difference is given in monthly credit to reach the $830 total).

Tax was $49.80 per phone. Not charged until new phone ships.

So you DO NOT get an $830 Trade In Value for your old phone.... you get the usual low trade in value BUT they make up the difference with monthly credits to equal the $830 - convoluted.
Did you have to give the rep the imei number of the iphone 8 too? I'm going to buy one, and it won't be here soon. Thanks

The way it was explained to me, verified on reddit and listed on t-mo website is.... once you pay off the phone, the promo becomes a line level promo and a new phone can be purchased with a new (elegable) promo. There is no limit to the number of line level promos you can have.

You do not lose the promo unless you drop the line it was/is attached to.

Many people have stacked promos this way and have 3+ phone credit promos on the same line, this is normal.

I have seen an account with paid off phones and stacked promos that will not have to pay a monthly service fee for 14 or so months.
Fantastic, thank you for all the detail. Stoked to do this tomorrow. My wife's been lamenting at the fact that she got a green iPhone 12 last fall and now they came out with a purple one. Will be a great present for her.

I've got a 12Pro, had the 11Pro before, and the X before that, and just about every iPhone model since the very first one on day one. And I'm a "pro" user, i.e. I know all the features and use all the features. I don't know wtf the lidar is for...I just don't think there are any real world uses of it currently. There may be stuff down the line, but I wouldn't buy the Pro just for that. The difference between the two phones is basically the 3rd 2x zoom lens, and double the base storage on the 12Pro vs the 12.

Anyone know how many times I can take advantage of that offer. Is it per account or per line. I have 10 lines on my account.
