Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

My iPhone Xs is paid off, but locked to T-Mobile(Mint) through US Flex Reseller Policy. So, the Imei is not in their database. Would that be an issue for the trade in?

What does it say when you type in the IMEI during the trade-in screen?

Same here. Bought two from MicroCenter. It said refurbished, but I call it used lol. Verified the condition and everything else ( did not verify whether it's 64GB storage since it won't matter during evaluation, all iPhone 8s are the same value ), all checks out. Went through normal process of upgrading my two eligible lines ( it needs to be free of EIP, pay it off otherwise ), saw the screen with $830 confirmation on both orders. Fantastic deal!
How is the MC iphone 8 condition? thx

That's fair. For me no wait, the guy was pretty smart and knowledgeable and since I did 2 phones it's about $100 savings when adding shop cards and activation savings and I don't mind doing the mail in trade and waiting for the phone for that.
do you mind uploading some scans of your EIP agreement? I'm assuming some wireless associates will not have any knowledge of this and cause mass confusion, like we already have. some people are reporting their costcos don't do it. same with reddit. there is one person on reddit who said he did this successfully.

having scans of the EIP documents might help the rest of us.

and the $30 shop card offer, is that on their website? what exactly are the terms of this offfer? $30 for just getting a new phone?

I don't understand why an iPhone 8 would be worth any more than an SE2, much less $250 more. The SE2 is an 8 with a 2-years-newer processor.
Haha so true. Just lucky for those with 8's, I guess. They are probably just basing off MSRP.

You have to pay it off to get this deal.

1 EIP per line, but you can have multiple reoccuring decice credits per line.

I paid off one of my EIP line which still has 18 months remaining. The EIP immediately disappeared from my account. Now, I can't see the remaining bill credits on that line or on my account. Does the remaining bill credits for the paid off EIP line show up in my next billing? I would want to use that line for this new deal.

So if I am financing (EIP) a previous iPhone with 24mo bill credits from a previous deal, can I pay it off and still get the remaining monthly bill credits or do they stop when EIP is paid in full? I want to give my iPhone to my mom and trade in her old iPhone 7 for a 12.
If you pay it off, you will still get the credits on your bill. It shows in your account under the EIP/Promotions section.

You obviously need to have the proper device to trade to get the full $830 credit for this promotion. Iphone 7 is only getting $530 credit

You guys are not understanding one simple logic. unofficially you are signing a contract for 24 months to get the deal and you are giving up your 500 worth phone as a tradein.

not sure of others trade, but an iphone 8 has no $500 value, in any parts of the world.

24 months? some of us been with TM for 10+ yrs. I was not on any contract, time flies I guess

Am I crazy or did they change it so that we now have to activate a new line?

NVM… you have to log in and do an upgrade…

If Im on an old plan that charges taxes and use this promo, would the addition of the monthly phone payment cause my bills taxes to go up? (I realize theres a credit to offset the payment just wondering about the fees and taxes on the bill).

Good Morning SD's,
My dilemma is I just received my iphone12 yesterday but was the previous offer of trading in X for $415.
I have not open or activated it at all. Can I request a return label and send it back and hop on this deal. In my TM account, it appears I can upgrade to today's offer. Anyone have any comment if this would mess things up or otherwise?

Thanks in advance
Just do a return thru chat( it is down right now), and re do the deal.

Though since you have not return the device, you would need to pay lot more down than $99 like last time.

assuming you have not mail in the trade in as well. it is doable

Check this page: https://www.t-mobile.com/account/promotions
If it doesn't show, it'll just show up on your next billing.

If doing this in store, will they take the trade in phone immediately, and allow you to ship it out later? Gonna take a while to back up these two phones so want to avoid the hassle. TIA!

if i pay off the phone, will i still get the monthly credit to pay my monthly bills as long as i stay with tmobile? thinking to sell the phone if my daughter does not like it.
Have the same question and appreciate anyone can share insights.
From reading up in past threads, it still won't affect the bill credits as long as you stay with T-mobile since paying off early would only close the EIP plan. Can't seem to find the thread now, but folks also do this to unlock the device by paying off early and sell/gift the phone.

You can ship out later. Just confirmed. They just charge that $20 support fee + sim fee if you need a new one.
