Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

They're mistaken. I still have my monthly credit. As many others have.

What did she say about the crack?
She said I need to have it fixed. She recommended a store. She said it would cost about $70 or 80. She said I will lose $100 if I pay it off. I am sadly going to pass this deal. Frown

If the store accept your phone for the trade in, then you are good to go. That's why I prefer going to store and pay for $20 fee and avoid all the hassles of shipping the phone.
Yes. I agree. I heard stories phone lost when shipped or they won't accept the phone.

I cannot think of a greater PITA than giving mom (or dad) a smart phone they have no idea how to use.

And THEN they tell you to just "bring it back" ..... wth???
I feel you! Because I've had that happened more than once laugh out loud

took my parents soooooo long to get used to touch phone. Thought using iPhones would bridge the change from dial pad to touch screen but nooooo. Got them iPhone 8 and SE and they still asked me to find them the old flip phones. Ironically, used old flip phones are same or even more expensive than smartphones LMAO . It's been years since I switched their phones and they still touch the screen weirdly, especially my mom. Every once in a while, especially when the screen gets wet and not as responsive, they would ask for me to find them an old Razr phone to replace the iPhones......

Tried to upgrade my parents' phones with the iPhone 11 when it came out, the lack of home button stressed them out so much after a week that I had to return their 8 and SE Facepalm

It's been years since I got them on smartphones and they still ask if I get them the old old buttons cell phones. I was all ConfusedConfusedConfused and Scratchhead when my parents were so envious of seeing this old lady talking on her old flip phones, while they were using iphone 11 and Samsung S10+ just to take pictures!

Anyway, hoping Apple will bring back home button in large screen phones so I can upgrade my parents' phones.

The store doesn't determine the final say. It's when it's inspected when received
I am not 100% sure that's accurate. When you bring phone to the store and they accept it. The credit for the trade in is accepted immediately. Also, the EIP credit shows up in your account.

I just did 3 trade ins. 2 in store and that's how it worked. 1 trade in was shipped and I took about 2 weeks to get the credits.

Wow. Better than the past deal where the lowest traded model was an 11 for a 12….now the lowest is an 8 for a 12?

Might actually do this deal if that's the case
Can we move out of t-mobile after purchasing?
Any limitations or penalties?

My understanding is that Sprint customers have same offer as T-Mobile customers. I called T mobile store and they verified as well.
Can any existing Sprint customer confirm if they've been able to upgrade with same trade in discounts please.

I'm thinking of trading in my iPhone 6S for an iPhone 12 Mini. I'm currently on a family plan with a family member. If somewhere down the line my family member wants to cancel/find some other phone plan, would I be able to switch my plan to a pre-paid T-Mobile Connect plan and still get the credits for the phone? I'm wondering if I should make the switch now, knowing I might potentially have to pay it back later. Any advice for me? Thanks in advance!

Could you share details about your plan? Which plan is it for $20/month?
The One Plan Military. The primary owner is in the military.

Then what happens to the traded device?
I have iPhone 8 Plus with non T-Mobile network
I want to trade in this device to get iPhone 12 and I'm paying the remaining full price while purchasing
Now if I move out of T-Mobile, how much should I pay?

Trade-in device DOES NOT have be registered on the Tmobile network to be eligible. Just completed a transaction with a $200 refurb iPhone 8 bought locally at MicroCenter. System validated the IMEI and confirmed 830 trade in credit.
Did you pay the sales tax on $200 or is tax included in that amount?
I'm pretty much sure local MC will charge me NYS tax on top, if I decide to buy.
