Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

Just curious. Do they not charge the $20 per line support fee at costco when we do this EIP plan in store? Never did EIP in costco.
For folks who need device in-hand by tomorrow to gift, paying that $20 in store where store permits is not too bad I guess considering the only diff is $13 when factoring the $7 shipping costs.
Most, if not all the Costco around me do not charge those fees, EIP or one time pay out.

No, bcoz u continue to get the credits.

You may have one Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo per line at a time. To get a new Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo and keep your current credit, you must pay off the existing EIP first. If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months).Additionally, you can't pay off an EIP by deducting the remaining Recurring Device Credits (RDC) installments from the remaining EIP balance. The full EIP balance must be paid to close out the plan.
So, I want to make very sure I understand. Scenario is, I have a phone whose trade-in value is listed at $830. Presumably at checkout for a basic 64GB Phone 12, I'd just owe state/local taxes on the price of the iPhone. After this, I'd be getting back the value of the trade-in via bill credits, right? Which in the case of the basic iPhone 12, would essentially mean my monthly bill would be the same as it is now, since the value of the credits would equal the value of the device exactly. But if I wanted to sell or gift the phone and still have it work on a different account or wireless carrier, I would have to pay them what's left of the $829.99 sticker price of the iPhone 12, correct? Say I could get $700 for the phone (you will not get sticker price even if unopened, I'm just making up a number now), which I decided to sell a month in (so $30 or something of the balance will have been 'paid off' by the trade-in credits already). I come up with the sale price + $100, pay off the device. But, I continue to get the Recurring Device Credits: in other words, $30 off my monthly bill for the next 23 months, in exchange for my current phone + $100 + taxes on $830. Did I get that right?

Anyone trade in Verizon A71 5G UW and got the $830 promo? Just want to make sure it falls under the A71 5G and is not an ineligible trade.

Yeah I figured it out. I double checked with support and they confirmed. They also confirmed that the extra charge would drop off after the 24 months.

Also, thanks to whoever it was that mentioned the Costco deal. I asked support if they could match and they gave me $30 bill credit. They waived the support fee and shipping too!

Hi

For the $30 credit, did you called, or chat thru TM site or FB/Twitter? thank you

Yet another massive T-Mobile thread.

I have an unopened iPhone 12 from last week's deal that I was going to trade in an iPhone 8 for. In last week's deal it was going to effectively cost me $500. This deal is obviously way better. How can I get in on this considering the iPhone 12 is unopened? Can I return it in some fashion or is T-Mobile willing to match this superior deal and adjust the previous promo somehow?

They do not charge the $20 fee that a T-Mobile Store charges. No sim fee either which is usually $10.

They have the phones shipped to your place. You also have to shop the device that you are trading in. They do not shop it out for you. That's a risk since we have to send it through the post office.

It's there a restocking fee or anything? Do I just take it back to the store? Thanks for your help!

Both actually. I upgraded one this morning using the self checkout. Saw the Costco deal and chatted with them this evening. Made the second upgrade at the same time.

It might be a headache. You will more than likely have to pay a $70 restocking fee despite it being sealed. Totally depends on the store. Also, this deal ends tomorrow, Sunday. So depending on the amount of lines, who knows how long it would take for your old order to clear I. Order to process this new one with the same trade in device.

Maybe someone who has been in a similar situation can give their experience.

Is the EIP contract and disclosure supposed to show the trade-in and the credit details? It only shows iphone 12 pro is 999.99 and the monthly payment is $41.67?
How do I verify that I am getting the monthly credit for the trade in? I am at the "submit order" by signing using docusign stage..
sounds like you just did a regular full price purchase or JOD purchase.
