Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

No credit check for a new EIP if you already have an open account. Doesn't matter if you do or don't have EIP. The only time a credit check is done is when you first open the account.
Good to know. Thanks for info!

The line I'll be upgrading has an iPhone X on it…I have an 8 from Verizon I'm not using, anyone know if I can send in the 8 or if T-Mobile requires the exact phone associated with line being upgraded?
Since the 8 isn't associated with any line on your account, I want able to figure out how to upgrade through the website or app. I did through chat by providing IMEI without an issue. Since I couldn't accomplish it without an agent (and they couldn't tell me how to) they waived the $20 assist fee. They also apparently waived the shipping fee, but that isn't something I asked for our they even took me they were giving me. I just realized it after the deal was done

Can you please tell me the name of the Costco Deal? A T-mobile rep is asking for the name of the deal probably to verify. I couldn't find it online anywhere. Thanks in advance!
It's just direct delivery. Let me check my paper work when I get home. But supposedly Costco distribution ran out of stock of all 12's

is iphone12 camera bad or almost comparable to 12 pro?
They are comparable except you will not have the telephoto lens. I think the average person won't be able to distinguish pics taken with the normal lens from either camera. Also the 12 pro has a "slightly" faster lens than either the 12 or 12 pro max.

I just got iPhone 8 from micro center and if I check the IMEI on sickw.com then it says it is unlocked but blacklist status as reported lost or stolen. However if I try to enter this IMEI for trade in at t mobile for this iPhone 12 deal it is also getting accepted and telling me that this is eligible for 830 credit.

Does anyone gone through similar issue and if you know if this is an issue ? This is what it says.

What is the best way to think about unlocking and using the iPhone 12 on a different network?
For example, I am thinking of activating, waiting for 40 days (not sure if it has to be used for 40 days on the network or the sim needs to be in at first for a few hours then go back to my old phone and have the iphone 12 sit elsewhere for 40 days..), then paying off the EIP, requesting the unlock and using the iphone 12 on a different network for my family member.. Looking at the recurring device credit policy, even if I fully pay off the EIP, the credit will still run at the account level as long as my t-mobile line is not cancelled.. Anything I can do better here? (e.g. unlocking without fully paying off etc)

Well ... technically it does cost you $$ as in the $200 you shelled out of pocket for the microcenter phone. And any $$ you recover by selling the XS means you are out of pocket 1 spare iPhone.
The $200 for the microcenter phone I accounted for. Out of pocket I'm at $479. Whatever I sell my old XS for cuts that down (and I can probably sell it for $400). Yes I'm out a spare Iphone, but what am I going to do with a spare phone that would just sit until it became obsolete? And the XS was bought on a trade in deal at Costco 2+ years ago, so the initial cost of that phone was minimal.

Had the same issue just now at the Costco in Torrance. The rep showed me the system would not let him place the order even though it showed availability.
The Rep at the Kiosk uses a system called "prism". It shows inventory for direct delivery. When I was there, only the model with 10+ In stock can be ordered. Single digit will not go through.

Can someone please explain how this works for 11 pro trade in ? Say I trade in the device for 12 pro. Then I pay the tax of 60$ upfront and then 999/24 - 830/24 = 7.03/ month payment, correct ?
