Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

You can choose "Apple - Generic" as the carrier.

You should be able to choose "Generic" for the manufacturer. This enables you to skip the carrier details altogether (for iPhone 8 choose "Apple - Generic")

Why not try a T-Mobile store, order online through the T-Mobile app or call them at 611? Much easier than going to Costco in my opinion
I was only trading in my SE so the extra fees and losing the $30 gift card made a big difference, besides that, I ran out of time. I needed to get home and cook my Mother's Day lunch. Honestly, I'm too tired now. when I tried to do it online yesterday I kept getting a "whoops" something went wrong error message.

I gave up. T-Mobile you made it a memorable Mother's Day but definitely not in a positive way. Saturday I tried to do the deal at one Costco. Sadly they didn't know about it and wouldn't look it up or try. Sunday morning I went to another Costco, waited an hour to talk to the rep, who this time did know about the deal. We jumped through all the hoops to do the trade only to find out all mini's and 12's in 64 and 128's in all colors were sold out.

I also got the honor of cooking and cleaning up after a nice Mothersday lunch with my husband and adult son but I can't blame T Mobile for that.
Can't you just order off the T-Mobile site and call it a day? Still a really great deal.

I agree. I don't know why you'd waste your time doing this 2 days in a row when you could've just went to a Tmobile store and been in and out in 15 mins or done it online. This was a fantastic deal that you can't really blame Tmobile for.

Was able to take advantage of this at Costco this afternoon for 2 iPhone 12 Pro's 256 GB and traded in 2 of the iPhone 8's 64 GB from Micro Center that I bought for $200 each yesterday. Another advantage at Costco was the 6.5% tax vs 10%

EDIT: Yes, T-Mobile retroactively went back and gave me the better promo! My account is already showing my number will be $18/mo for the iPhone 12 Pro Max! Awesome customer service! I didn't even ask for this.

I traded in my iPhone XS Max 3 weeks ago for a $430 promo they had going on. Dohh!

Well, I just got back from the T-Mobile store. I decided to upgrade our other line, because $830 is too good to pass up.

I just got home and received a text message: "Hi! Your T-Mobile line 555-555-5555 is eligible to receive a higher monthly bill credit on 2021 Apple Switch P3. We thought you'd like this, so your bill credits have been updated to reflect this better deal - no action required! Learn more: t-mo.co/mypromo4"

So does this mean I'm going to get the $830 for my phone I traded in a few weeks ago!?
OK, so I figured this out. I scored the deal of a lifetime (hypothetically speaking).
  1. I traded in my iPhone 3 weeks ago for a $430 promo they had going on.
  2. This new Mother's Day promo I *thought* required me to port in a new number to get the deal. So last night I ran to Walmart and picked up a Straight Talk SIM card and ported one of our numbers out.
  3. Went to T-Mobile store today and ported the number back in (realized it wasn't required.) Oh well.
  4. Upgraded the line I just ported in to get this $830 Mother's Day deal.
  5. T-Mobile sees I ported in a line, and decides to automatically give me $34.59/month now in credits because the terms for their "2021 Apple Switch P3 [imgur.com]" promo. So now I AM getting $830 for my primary number, when I initially thought it was $430 a few weeks ago when I was at the T-Mobile store. AWESOME!
  6. So now my main phone number is getting $830 in credits for the P3 promo which is DIFFERENT than today's Mother Day's promo which is called "2021 Apple Trade P9 [imgur.com]."
  7. My "new" ported in number is getting $830 in trade in because of the P9 promo.

So now I have another line on the account that is eligible for the Mother's Day P9 promo! Yay! So I actually did upgrade my mom's phone.

In total... I'm getting 3 phones today, all with $830 trade-in! Killer deal!

I would call 611, and explain to the rep your situations when you went to Costco . T-Mobile may give you the $30 credit and waive the fee.

You can pay off the full amount of your EIP early and continue to receive the monthly bill credits. With the phone paid off, T-Mobile will unlock the phone for you (along with the 40 days requirement).
Thanks for the info hur 👍🏻

Bumping it up if anyone has any experience with " remanufactured by valutech" iPhone trade in experience. I bought a mint condition and now it see that written on back. Kicking myself to pay $20 extra for that.

Come on Confused

$34.59 - $25.34 = $9.25/month you'll pay for your iPhone 12.

Iphone 12 - 128GB = $879
Tax = $75
Fees = $20

My iphone xs trade in = $830.

Where does the $9.25 x 24 ($222) come from?

In my head, I wonder why do they make it so complicated.

Def not T-Mobile's fault. You could've just did this deal directly with T-Mobile. No point doing it through Costco.

I just traded in my XR for a pro at a store. However, on the receipt it doesn't say anything about the promotion. Also, at the bottom of the receipt, it says "Device recovery program" and listed my XR phone and days I accepted offer of $163. Should I be worried about this and how do I check to see if I have the $830 deal? Help.

There seems to be some questions on the maximum promos available per account. On SD, it says 2 maximum but I was able to get 4 with telesales after they confirmed each one was eligible.

I really hope they don't try to pull a fast one after the phones get traded in.
