Looks to be a good price until you compare it to the updated Rockpal model.
You get Anderson connector, built in leg support, Type C port, parallel capability, etc for only $179 or only $40 more.
Better to get the newer model.

Lol yeah, no pc is taking 800 Watts constantly unless you're mining or trying to find Extra Terrestrial Life/Folding Proteins. For how many solar panels or batteries is a complex question since it depends on your location on how much/long sun you get, etc.

You need to get 3-4 of the 300Watt output panels, wired into an inverter going to a battery, and then from battery deliver power to your "PC"... in other words you need solar panels installed atop your house. There aren't portable panels that can do what you are asking (800W continuous output). Solar panels generate varying amount of output based on position of sun (unless you move panels every 30 mins or so), and clouds in the sky. 100W panel just means that's the max output, but if you average it out it would just at be about 30-40W max while sun is out

I have room to put as many as I need in my back yard...so yeah 4 300w panels sounds like a plan...But how big of a battery would one need? I see one on amazon "300,000mAh" but what's the math? I mean at 800w, how long would 300,000 mAh last me?

ty for your help!

Sun shines only 8-12h depending on location. So if expecting to run on battery power, need is 16h * 800W = 12800Wh. And keep in mind that during sunny hours solar panels need to be able to charge battery full as well as provide 800W, so needed solar panels is likely closer to at least 4kW level in order to cover for no sunny days charging.
Battery you would need is like Tesla powerwall that is 13500Wh, system with solar is about $14000, so maybe not optimal outside of CA where electricity is expensive.
Really working solution would be 2x powerwalls and 8kW solar setup so one rainy day would not exhaust all power.

Well I am planning on getting whole house solar installed, and letting the grid be my battery for the night and rainy days....so maybe I should just stick to that plan

Your best bet is likely to look at Tesla Solar, especially if you need a new roof. They have a conventional solar setup on top of a traditional roof (if yours is still good), or solar roof tiles, which is about the same as installing a new roof + their conventional solar panels.

Having at least one (or likely multiple) powerwalls will be necessary. It's the most seamless application and almost no other company can match their performance and value.

On the fence with this. Looking to use for a popup camper so the lack of controller kind of stinks. But with the MC4 connectors I should should be able to add my own.

I am gonna get this to short term charge some smaller battery banks using USB out of box... then expand to do camper batteries at some point.

Panel seems to be good... So a good start to my final desired setup.

Assuming you own your house/property - Look into Tesla solar panels. They have very reasonable priced systems.

I looked into diy kits as well, but the Tesla system was within 2k of diy - better for peace of mind to go with Tesla.

Will this solar panel work with this power station that was on sale awhile ago?

The thread was talking about getting solar panels, but I did not know which would work.

Yes, that power station comes with a MC4 adapter, and this panel has an MC4 connector. So you can use that adapter to hook it up.
