Not likely. It said value up to $79.99. Most, if not all, brushless tools are $99 or above.

There's a hedger (which I love) and 8" chain saw included.

100% agree.
They just had a 15% off for mothers day at direct tools factory and I ordered the 40v 18" for $170, comes with a 4ah battery, so I figured worst case the battery is most of that cost. It's regular $199, so might be worth watching for another deal. Flat $7 shipping

If I were to get 2 batteries, is it better to use both batteries and rotate them or should I just use up one battery and wait until it dies before using the other new battery? Doesn't a new battery degrade faster if it isn't used and left uncharged for long time?

I always rotate mine, I also keep them inside(IMO you get longer life if you keep them in a controlled climate)

Use both. I have 6 and use it all at once.

There is a misprint. it said 39.for 2 batters with charger plus 39 for the fast charger
I tried calling customer service for that, the app shows no price for the battery kit and says buy both for $39.97, when you add to cart it's regular price, no go with customer service rep.

Overrated unless you have old brushless tools. New brushless has a 'chip' that determines if it can pull more power from the battery and just does it. Example the new 16inch brushless lawn mower comes with these batteries and when asked Ryobi reps confirmed the tool will not get more power if you use HP batteries. The main advantage of the HP is old brushless, the thinner profile, and less weight.

I did the 3ah deal twice a couple years back and don't want that again. I want the extra AH for longer runtime using the new brushless 18v outdoor line.
I have all the old Brushless tools from the return the battery sale 2 christmas' ago. Only new HP tool I have is the newest drill and impact. I might add the new 1/2" impact since they finally made one that works. Needless to say, I only need or want HP batteries. I have so many, that I don't need any in reality.

Wanting to get a chainsaw, but the one is this deal doesn't have great reviews.

I want to trim some really small trees (1-2" max) that grow like crazy between my neighbors fence and mine (I rent, we've tried to get the landlord to kill them permanently but no dice). Would the reciprocating saw work as well as a chainsaw for a job like this?

In the end I really want the $99 chainsaw which has 2k reviews/much better reviews overall. I want that saw + the work fan.

Would love to hear thoughts!

Recip saw should work fine for those size branches. I've used mine many times whenever I don't want to get out the chainsaw. Just make sure to have a good blade like one made by Diablo and is not too big or else it will bend.

One issue I ran into with the battery chainsaws (Ryobi, B&D, Craftsman 19.2, and even Dewalt) is the chains they come with get dull right away so if you do plan to get a battery chainsaw expect to pick up a new chain from a reputable brand to replace the junk one it comes with. Don't expect to cut a big tree either or anything hardwood like a oak as the speed isn't fast enough.

There is no way to know yet but normally you buy the battery kit and the tool you want and then return the battery kit. The "Max refund value" listed next to each link in the wiki will show you what the cost of the tool alone will be (minus tax) if that is an option this time around.

Rinse/repeat for each tool you want.

Thanks a ton! Makes sense about the blade and chain, I will plan to upgrade.

Btw which ryobi chainsaw do you have?
