Not likely. It said value up to $79.99. Most, if not all, brushless tools are $99 or above.

Sorry....didn't read through 14 pages of chat. Trying to understand the deal here.......Do we get to return the tool for some sort of a refund getting the batteries for cheap or something else. Can someone please explain?
That, or you just get a pretty good deal on a tool + batteries. You don't have to play the return game if you don't want to. If you don't have battery-operated tools, I think you may found out quickly that just 1 pair of batteries isn't always enough.

Yep.....recently ran into the issue where both my batteries were dead and I had to wait for them to charge before I get any work done....so I surely need more batteries and I also need a hedge trimmer. So I guess will go down the buy the batteries and get the hedge trimmer deal.

Thank you for responding.

As of now, the link to HD site points to a product not available. Hope it is just a question of HD updating it by 5/24.

For those curious -

Pricing on generic brand batteries is pretty comparable if you're buying 2 of the 4mah batteries in a pack. They're about $56 on Amazon. This looks like a decent deal if you're in the market for a tool to go with them. Not sure how the generics compare to the original product though.

I have a couple power tools from Bosch (impact driver, drill) but.. they're more expensive in general and the batteries are hard to find for cheap. Kind of tempted to go cordless with Ryobi or another brand with lots of aftermarket support. Too bad a handheld/stick combo vacuum isn't one of the items. Kinda need one of those.

I've got a couple of 2.0 Ah batteries that are already overkill on my drill/driver. As a mere homeowner, I pretty much never need more than that for hand tools, so the extra weight and size of larger batteries would be a drawback. The 4.0 Ah batteries work great for gardening tools which tend to see much more extended use.
It's good to keep one 4ah battery around though. Don't they provide more power? Not just longer but actually more power.

At least that's what I saw on a Ryobi YouTube impact wrench review. Regular batteries not the HP

Wanting to get a chainsaw, but the one is this deal doesn't have great reviews.

I want to trim some really small trees (1-2" max) that grow like crazy between my neighbors fence and mine (I rent, we've tried to get the landlord to kill them permanently but no dice). Would the reciprocating saw work as well as a chainsaw for a job like this?

In the end I really want the $99 chainsaw which has 2k reviews/much better reviews overall. I want that saw + the work fan.

Would love to hear thoughts!
Just an option. I love mine.

Unfortunately no, there will be many tools under $80 that are excluded. Typically it's everything listed in the promo and maybe a couple that are not. 3 years ago the hand planer wasn't listed but the deal worked at checkout, last year the super charger was the same situation.

Thank you both. There seem to be a lot more tools listed in last years ad. Hopefully this ad is expanded before the actual sale. Hoping it works online as well if I can't get to a store day one.

Are there any good deals on smaller 1.5Ah or 2Ah batteries? I already have a lot of 4Ah already and would prefer some more lightweight ones for smaller jobs and flashlights. I don't have any HP tools and would prefer a battery indicator if possible. Happy to play the return game if necessary.

Watch DTO. About a month back now they had 2 free refurbished 1.5Ah batteries with the purchase of select tools. I picked-up a fan for $50 and got 2 - 1.5Ah batteries for free. Both batteries seem to work well so far.

Funny, my go-to driver is Bosch and I have a heated jacket and a beat up drill laying around but everything else I own is Ryobi. It's getting ridiculous these days.

Don't know about more power, but it's possible. A 4ah should basically be the equivalent of two 2ah batteries in parallel, so theoretically twice the available current. Whether the tool can take advantage of that is a different story. The battery itself also will have circuitry to limit the current. Certainly likely that the 4ah can run at full current for longer than the 2ah without any cell temperature issues

Definitely a good idea to have a mix of low and higher capacity batteries, just for flexibility.

Anyone able to direct me to which ones I should buy if I just need a set of power tools for basic screwing in, drilling, etc?

(Clearly not a sophisticated home improvement person but I just need someone for assembling furniture, removing / installing faceplates, etc.)
