This fan kind of sucks. My first one had a bad bearing. Home Depot made it very difficult to exchange (due to a combo deal, they wanted me to go back home to get the perfectly good sander that I already used and wanted to keep so I could exchange them both, clerk made me get a manager, then I still had to call their customer service hotline before the manager understood logic). The replacement fan doesn't click but its very loud on the highest setting due to the small blades / high speed and chews through batteries. The low setting barely moves any air at all. AC adapter is the brick style.

The first remedy for a bad product at Home Depot is a return/exchange if you're still in the return window. Since you bought it as part of a kit, to do this they needed the whole kit.

The next resolution is to go through the manufacturer warranty, where you can get a single part of a kit warranted.

Problem is, the customer service desk handles the first and the rental/repair center handles the second and neither necessarily knows much about what the other does. So in the future, if you don't want to return/exchange the whole kit, just take the one piece to the rental center for a warranty repair (or exchange).
