The only offer for me is 50mbit for $69.99 or local TV + 100mb for $65, both on contract. I'm currently on 100mbit for $49. I could even cancel and sign-up on a new name for less. These offers are straight-up scams.
Every year I call to 'cancel' and ask for the same deal again. This is what it looks like when you have no competition.

Essentially, these are the categories though and the uploads speeds haven't changed in a long time for Performance Pro, Blast Pro, Extreme Pro etc.

To contrast.. I've ATT Fiber Giga line today and over a wireless connection, speed test shows 500+ mbps of download and 200+ mbps of upload speeds. Have had that for an year for $60/month.

I was thinking of signing up for Comcast 800mbps one for $60 (ATT deal credits were for an year only), but the Comcast upload speeds that are very relevant for zoom video calls, for example, concern me.

Although it was $60 for the first year and then $74 in year 2 (to cover modem cost). Everyone else seeing the same?

Also, if in SF/Bay Area, it seems Sonic is finally expanding fiber services to more areas. I was about to renew Comcast but the building manager saw the Sonic installers 2-3 blocks away and they said they are expanding services in the next few weeks/months. So, I won't extend Comcast for now but give it 1-3 months and see if Sonic Fiber finally shows up. Their website still tells me 12 Mbit/s with two DSL lines is possible... what year was that again?
Let's hope for fiber optic soon:

... snipped ...
It would be nice to have a real world idea of how often buying your own modem works out just fine and how often things go bad and folks end up back with Comcast's equipment.

Sonic will only come to areas where your power poles are accessible on city property. If your poles reside on private property, it will be too much work for them to get approval from all residents to allow them to perform the work necessary to provide service to that area.
