With free delivery on this natural gas version, a great price to heat your garage, workshop, etc. No vent and 99.9% efficient with O2 depletion sensor, the 6,000 to 30,000 btu output will heat a small to fairly large area.

We have one in the basement and put one in my Dad's garage where he spends a lot of time. No electric required unless you want to add an additional fan, nice when the power goes out.

Note: The propane version is $97, but adds $80 delivery fee, so not a great deal.

He he, except for last winter.
Cool story bro
I have this in a 2.5 car garage in Chicago area. On the coldest of days itd get the garage up to 70+ in about an hour. Its great if you work a lot outside, but don't expect to turn it on and have a toasty car/garage in 15min or anything. This is a great buy though.

But, you can always walk up to it and get warmed up... kind of like the radiant heat from a wood stove without the hassle that is involved with feeding it. I did enough of that 'feeding' growing up, where everyone said you got warmed up twice.... cutting, splitting, hauling the wood and then from the stove itself.

$80 delivery.....Too bad. Need the propane model as well.
Delivery is free for this Natural gas version, but surprisingly, even with the $80 delivery fee for the Propane model, it is now sold out. I would expect this Natural gas model to be sold out soon.... unlike Home Depot, there is no running inventory to check.

Excellent price, but not for me. We have a similar one at our office, same 3 settings as this one. In my outbuildings at my home, I have 2 wall-mounted propane heaters w/ thermostats, and I'd never go back to not having one, even paying considerably more (paid something around $275. retail for 10,000 btu units) as, for me, it's worth it. Repped, OP.

Oh yes... if not on a budget, there are many alternatives...

With a unit that will actually shut the burner off, it has to have a furnace type gas valve with at least a thermocouple to realize there is a pilot light available for ignition. To get up into this 30,000 btu range, I imagine you are probably around $400 and higher with auto ignition ----almost to the price of a small furnace.

Our fireplace, kind of similar to the OP will go from low to high with the rheostat type temperature thermostat, but will never completely shut off.... low is as low as it will go.

PS: Thank you....

An overkill for a bathroom.... unless you keep it on low. As an example, a 1500 watt typical electric heater is about 5,000 btu.

remember infrared heaters heat surfaces and not air. (like when you walk under the heaters of hotel entrances). make sure that's the type of heat you want in your finished basement
Thank you for input.

Isn't the problem with ventless heaters like this the amount of moisture the combustion produces? So there will be a lot of humidity in the air and your cold tools will "sweat"?

Well, if you are not a handyman, like me, or don't have a way to get cheap installation, I suspect you are talking considerably more than $400. just for the unit in my neck of the woods if purchased at retail, say, from the local gas utility company. For me, my budget will require a unit w/ a thermostat.

You said that you paid around $275 for a 10,000 btu unit with thermostat controlled that I presumed shuts the gas valve/burner off with a standing pilot. I gathered you were handy, but I missed the 'retail' part of the price paid.

Perhaps I was wrong and your thermostat only adjusts the flame that only goes to low and never really goes out. That type of bi-metal thermostat control can be swapped out with this OP unit, or the one at your office. They are not that expensive.

========

Note: Actually, we do have commercial wholesale accounts all over, where my response was "$400 and higher" ..... for just the 30,000 btu unit with thermostat controlled gas valve that shuts the burner completely off. The low end will be with a standing pilot and the higher end will be with auto ignition. At some near point, you are into the wholesale price of a small 85-90% furnace with a blower that of course, you have to vent and requires electric.

Natural gas for this one..... radiant heat, you turn the gas on, push the pilot button that lights the burner and then set the thermostat that is simply a three position valve that controls the gas flow from low, medium or high. No venting, no electric unless you want to add an optional blower, 99.9% efficient, you just need a gas line to the unit.
