Great price but double check with your cable provider how long they'll be supporting DOCSIS 3.0 modems.

My cable company sent out notices that modems older than docsis 3.1 will not be allowed to activate on their network and strongly recommended everyone to upgrade. They also offered a free year rental of the latest modem. You may want to check your snail mail or call your cable company for any modem upgrade promotions.

By the way, no harm picking this up at WM and then calling your ISP and asking them if there are any issues activating your modem without actually going through the activation. All they'll need is the modem's model, SN, and MAC Address.

This is only good if your internet plan is < 300 Mbps

If you have more than 300 Mbps, you will need the CM600 or DOCSIS 3.1 models

So would this be okay if my internet speed was 600 down? I don't want to rent the Xfinity modem anymore. Thanks

Our plan is 500 but freaking Comcast can't seem to get us any more than 90 for 2 years now.

Got one of these for $34 at my local walmart a couple of weeks ago. They had three on the shelf, one already opened. The one I bought was DOA. I returned it and bought the 2nd sealed one, which seems to be working fine. I previously had an old Netgear router that dropped connection fairly often.

Definitely make sure that the modem is working ASAP if you are able to score on this deal.

Are you renting Comcast's box or using your own? I was getting inconsistent speeds before as well even renting the modem from Comcast. I upgraded my own modem to the arris surfboard sbg8300 and am now consistently getting speeds HIGHER than my plan. Had 200 plan and was getting about 230-240. Upgraded to the 400 plan yesterday through the $30/mo promo and am getting 450 right now. So the modem you're using seems to be a big factor. But then again, if Comcast can't get good strong signal to you then I guess not even a really good modem can help that.

I am using it on my 600 Mbps Xfinity plan since last year, constantly get 525+ Mbps.

If you want to get a modem quickly then sure grab this - it is only built for speeds up to 300, despite you paying for 600. You can also check used marketplaces (FB/craigslist/offerup) for folks selling modems if you want to find one in your speeds.

Most folks don't need more than 100mbps anyway.

Bought it last time from Walmart for 40 bucks from a deal posted here. Hooked it up recently to a 600 MBPS down connection plan from Comcast. I get 400MBS download speed most times via wifi. I dont know if it the limit I can reach from Comcast or the limit is set by this modem. I am happy with it.

No wifi is bad part

It's not a router so it doesn't have wifi. This is the bridge between your fiber cable from the ISP and your router, that enables you to have wifi.
