4 major things to look for when buying Ray-Ban. Make sure it comes in a Ray-Ban glasses box, the sticker on the side will have the model number. Make sure it comes with the leather Ray-Ban case with the cleaning cloth. Look at the button on the case, it should say Ray-Ban. Look at the outside of the glass to the right there should be an "R" etched into the glass, and they should say "Made In Italy" inside of the frame. People making fake sunglasses are going to miss several of these things. Sunglasses without the leather case is an automatic flag when you open your package. If the etching in the glass is not there then that is another red flag. If it is missing one or several of these things it is probably fake! I have ordered 3 pairs of sunglasses from here and all were legit with the correct markings.

Ordered 3 pairs so far and all were real with the correct case and etching on the glass. All said made in Italy. Those are the three easiest ways to spot a fake.

It is very easy to find out if they are fake. Order some on a credit card, take them to a Sunglass Hut or Pearl Vision, or Lenscrafters, or Target Vision, which are all owned my the Luxottica Corporation, which also owns Ray-Ban. They can verify if they are legit. If they are not, dispute the charges on your credit card. Worst thing that will happen is you get a free pair of sunglasses...

Thanks to OP!!! I took a chance and got this. It was delivered today. For those debating if this is genuine, the following boxes check..
  • Very crisp and prominent "RB" etching on one lens
  • "Ray Ban P" painted on one lens. The painting appears to be of high quality and not smeared.
  • Silver colored five barrel hinges. Hingers are held to the frame with two metal rivets. Hinges are embedded neatly into the frame rather than showing any traces of glue or melted plastic
  • Polarization of glasses appears to be working perfectly as it cuts off phone display when screen is rotated 90 degrees
  • Ray-ban badges on temples are attached with pins with precision drilling, rather than being glued.

I'm considering buying and found this old front page post from March. Very mixed opinions on the authenticity of Ray-Ban sunglasses purchased from Ashford. Reminds me of the old Dorco razor posts where people either loved them or hated them.
