I took it to the Apple store to compare after reading a review mentioning the same thing. Looks literally exactly the same brand new, but the fake "leather" was a bit tougher, and the graining was larger.

Then, months in there's no patina whatsoever (I have the brown one). The corners have gotten a weird artificial orange-y color.

Speaking of Amazon, it's funny how taking away Amazon employee's right to vocalize is echoed into the customer side as well with the removable of the ability to comment on peoples reviews in an open forum. It was very important for people to call out fake reviews and we can no longer do that.

Got the used - like new for $1.20 more than acceptable. Never had an Apple case so seems like a bargain to see if they are actually any better than any other case I've got.

Best Buy price matches Amazon if shipped/sold by Amazon. Take the deal over to your local BB and walk away with a genuine product in your hands today. With how many fakes there are for Apple products, I'll never buy one from Amazon directly.

Got a used like new for $7.30 and it's definitely genuine, but yeah price matching for $15 at best buy is probably the best choice.
