6,000 miles round trip LAX to JNU is absolutely awesome, but then $1,361 a week for a Toyota Corolla...
But be aware, there's nothing for places to stay (without significant expense) and nearly no car rentals available. Friend just booked a full-sized car for 2 weeks there (one of the last available) and it cost $3000. That's right, be basically paid the lease for the next 9 months on the thing, for 2 weeks of use.
People have been renting U-Hauls because there are no cars to rent and they're cheaper.
Just because the flight is cheap, doesn't mean the rest of the visit will be.

Juneau has a great bus system you don't really need a rental car. Bus goes to glacier as well (for example)

Is that some crazy Covid-era type pricing (like what people are seeing in Hawaii), or is a rental car always that expensive in Alaska?
Rental car prices are bonkers pretty much everywhere right now since they sold off too much of their fleets last year, and they're not making enough new cars fast enough. But Alaska and Hawaii are especially nuts.

I saw that also but I rarely use my miles so even if I have to eat them if prices don't come down, oh well.
