You were able to use the 100 off on the Apple TV? So it doesn't need to be 500?
Yep. Used fillers. The value of the coupon is prorated across the items in the order.

Sorry I mean, did you buy goods that total $500? Or the coupon works on below that?

What's the likelihood they announce an M2 or M1X Mac mini at WWDC? Also if so, I wonder what the pricing would look like. I guess I could return if something major is announced. Costco gives 30 days right.

Zero, zilch, nada Smilie You have 90 day return from Costco. Who knows, maybe they'll introduce a CPU upgrade option to the Mini.

Dang that's a long time so that covers it. Even if they announce a new chip my guess is it will come with a higher starting price.

Precisely. Mini is the cheapest computer they sell so not as much margin. With Intel, base config was i3 then more money for i5 model and upgrade to i7.

The ones who have actually used them personally say 8 is enough for most people.

The ones who have never used it and are just guessing say it isn't enough.
I use it and 8 isn't enough.

What were you running that pushed the limits on 8 GB of RAM? I am running Logic with 8 tracks going and hit a peak of 6 GB. Adding tracks adds minimally incrimental RAM usage (about 0.1 GB RAM per track).

I used one and 8 was totally enough for me as a webdev. What tasks stress it out, for you?

Apple's iWork office suite is free and can open and save files in MS Office formats if that might work for you.

https://www.apple.com/iwork/
The issue is when sending an iWork file to a PC via upload online.
The MS Office is the only holdback of me using a PC for work (which I hate)

I bought the 8GB M1 Mini when it first came out and I couldn't even do heavy shopping in Safari without crashing both the browser and the entire OS. Hopefully they've ironed out those issues, will be something you only hit when there is a lot of imagery in the pages you're browsing, I doubt that I got above 40 or so tabs but I was shopping for furniture so it saturated the RAM usage.

Software architect here. I love iPhones and iPads but find OS X a piss poor experience most of the time for power usage, I can't develop software on it comfortably but buying one of these minis tomorrow just to have one around.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ANY POWER USERS: These mac minis max out at 2 external monitors, though that is better than every other M1 system including the new iMacs which all max out at 1 external monitor.

What time do these to on sale? Is it 12am PST? I did get a Costco Citi card which I would have thought I could use it right away but I have to have the physical card before registering.
