How exactly is an 8 core 16 thread 4800H a low-end processor?

Hasn't been many 2060 with a Ryzen 7 and 16gb ram for under $1000 recently probably because they're getting discontinued(or soon to be for 3060 and 5000 CPU's). Nothing looks lacking or needing of additional updates.

The fact that you have to wait for at least a few weeks if not more would be my only hesitation.

I owned an EVOO gaming laptop for almost a year. It was fantastic, my only minor complaint was the mechanical keyboard key depth seemed a little shallow. Temps were great; build quality was great.

The article you linked was for super cheap laptops, the kit they used in my EVOO from a year or two ago was a very good Tongfeng chasis with a 9th gen Intel and a 1660TI.

I'm looking at the pictures of the chassis from the link, and it looks like there are no side vents, just vents on the very back and bottom. So was wondering if anyone has any experience with this laptop's cooling performance? I know Dell's G5 SE series (with the Ryzen CPU & 5600M) had bad cooling issues due to lack of side vents and heat going straight up from the bottom of the monitor. Will this suffer similarly?
Strange, mine looks identical in every way down to the ports but has a third vent next to the back ports and side vents where the solid parts are in their pictures.

They tried to fit a mechanical keyboard into a laptop? Obviously that is going to cause problems. My model has the usual scissor style and it is fine.
I owned the HP Omen X 17 before the EVOO, and I don't know how they did it, but in my opinion that was a perfect mechanical keyboard on a laptop. I've owned dozens over the years (I work in tech so I buy and sell lots of tech), and I have yet to find a keyboard I've enjoyed as much as that one.

I give myself neglecting doing typing on my slim work laptop, and plopping down a twelve pound gaming laptop in my lap just because I enjoyed its clicky-ness and bounce and travel. At first I thought the EVOO would at least satisfy my portable click craving but my fingers felt like they were bottoming out on a hard surface after typing sessions. If you're not doing much typing on it, all the other aspects of the EVOO really impressed me, especially since it was a no-name brand and I hadn't experienced major heat issues, throttling, and QC issues from all the major brands that year.

Finally just recently I gave up on my aspirations for a great mobile keyboard and got the Asus. I'm sure I'll sell it not too far down the line and pick up something else to satisfy my tech review cravings.

Do you mean the Gateway? I don't think EVOO made an i5 with 2060. If so then yes, it'd be an easy flip in today's market and you'd be getting a much better machine.
You're right, it was the Gateway. Although Gateway nowadays is just Acer rebranding EVOO-built laptops.

I'm going to guess it's more like a realistic $5/day (long-term average)... I have a 2070 laptop making 6-7/day right now(including CPU mining). This cannot be that far off.

Then again, this is only 6gb and my 2070 is 8gb.

The return policy is horrible. Not quite worth the effort at $1k... at $800 I may bite.

Would a PC with a dedicated GPU any better?

Absolutely, a laptop will thermal throttle. You will see the haters pop in sometime soon but reality is, this thing could at least pay for itself bin 10 or so months.
The question bis reliability here. WalMart won't take it back after 15 days and your left with the manufacturer which sounds sketchy.

I would avoid this brand like the plague. I had an issue with my laptop and I've been on call with support for SEVEN MONTHS trying to get it addressed. I have basically given up.
Even heard of a credit card chargeback?

Just download and install NiceHash. Best bang for your buck and easy to do. They pay in BTC. Right now the 2060 8gb is giving about $7-9 a day. Normal would be about $4. Right now i'm making $60 a day with three RTX 3070 it's insane. Normally, it would be about $20 daily.
