The fact that you have to wait for at least a few weeks if not more would be my only hesitation.
The article you linked was for super cheap laptops, the kit they used in my EVOO from a year or two ago was a very good Tongfeng chasis with a 9th gen Intel and a 1660TI.

What are your numbers for GPU core/mem clocks/temps, GPU power, and efficiency if you don't mind sharing? I'm curious how AMD version performs.

This isn't much of what you are asking for...but since I can't use quick miner with AMD GPU...It's all I've got for now...
Laptop is in other room [ibb.co]
I'm getting about 29.5-29.6 MH/s (core: 675 MHz; mem: 6350 MHz; power: 62 W; efficiency: 0.48 MH/j; core temp: 56 C, hotspot temp: 68 C; sitting on laptop cooler in chilly basement) with NiceHash Quick Miner for this $900 laptop (price dropped after you posted), which isn't bad. If this laptop could further drop down in price, the ROI on this laptop would be much quicker and then plus additional profit of continue mining afterwards. I'll need to find more time so I can tweak (used NHQM's OCTune) the laptop to be more efficient or perform better at cost of efficiency. So far, the laptop has been stable at many different settings (Lite, Medium, and currently Manual).
I intend to keep and use this laptop as my replacement for my aging 2017 HP Omen 15-ax250wm (Intel i7-7700HQ/GeForce GTX 1050Ti) [hp.com] later on after its ROI (or at least close to it).
For me, it's not worth mining with the CPU that adds additional heat to the laptop, especially adding more heat to the already heat soaked GPU. What are your three temps. for CPU and GPU?

The thing is like a tank, still going strong even with very heavy use in the last 3 years.
I'm still reading through the comments, but I'm wondering how people like this laptop and how long they have had it.

I'm think of returning my G5 15 SE and getting this. There's a lot of CPU throttling issues on the Dell plus this has more RAM and bigger HD. Both seems to run hot but I'm not a big time gamer, so that's no really my concern. The 5600m and the RTX 2060 reviews from what I've seen are pretty much both equal. This seems like a winner overall compared to the Dell I have.
the only problems I see so far are software, there is a war going on between the thx color profiles and the windows ones, so it seems to try to switch between them constantly, same between the thx sound filters and Dolby atmos, can't use both. the touchpad notification on the screen keeps turning off and on, the lighted keyboard software settings are inconsistent, and there's something that's making it go to the windows right side assist bar when I don't want to. that's it so far but it's all annoying. other than that great laptop, it runs all the games I want to play on high, so who cares if it doesn't have a 3060. best laptop I've had so far. recommended for the 1000 dollar price point for sure.
edit its also slightly heavier than I expected, heavier than the gl503 I had, doesn't have the same form factor appeal, it is almost bulky. that's fine. and the keyboard gets slightly hot, and the fans do spin high. so it would be best used as a mobile setup with mouse, keyboard, and monitor, not that I am doing that yet. not really a travel laptop although you could.
