What's the advantage of this one against the Brother J5330 for $199?
This printer comes with bottles of ink that you use to fill ink reservoirs (it's very easy and fool proof to do). This specific "Special Edition" includes a full set of ink bottles (black, cyan, magenta, yellow) and two more "bonus" black ink bottles. The yields for these EcoTank printers is much, much higher than for a cartridge printer (such as the Brother J5330). The yields for this Epson printer are 7,500 pages for the black and 6,000 pages for each of the colors. As a comparison, the yields for each the ink cartridges for that Brother you referenced are 550 pages.

A set of ink bottles for this printer are $49.99 at Costco, and a bit higher (about $60) at Staples and other retailers.

It was a no brainer for me given how much my wife prints for her business. It will easily pay for itself in a year. It's replacing an older Epson WorkForce and it got old spending $100 for a set of cartridges every 3 to 4 months.

In for one! I've been gently searching for a new household printer - coming from an older Brother laser that has been an absolute tank but is just too old to work easily in our mostly wireless household plus an HP OfficeJet Pro on the free Instant Ink plan that I thought was the solution but has had consistent printhead issues. Buying a printer from Costco seems like a no brainer, love their return policy.

Our Canon Pixma MG5320 just died the other day, surprised it lasted as long as it did (almost 10 years, and expensive ink cartridges), so this deal comes at a good time.

Have you tried any photo prints on it yet with photo paper by any chance? Just wondering if they are any good. Thanks

I was looking this up actually, a few weeks ago. You can use it for sublimation. BUT you would have to flush out the sublimation ink to put in printer ink and vice versa. You can't print with the sublimation ink.

A couple of good videos on YT regarding the process. Depending on if you're planning on using it for a business, it may be worth it to get a dedicated printer for sublimation and another just for regular printing. Maybe you can write it off when you do your taxes?

Very correct. If you buy this for sublimation, never use the ink that comes with the printer. Fill it up with a quality sub Ink and dedicate that much to only that.

Its much cheaper to buy another printer to do regular printing on.

I used an Epson 2720 for sublimation, only sold it to find a wider printing machine.

My POS HP ENVY 6055 (Amazon's top seller when I bought it last year) stopped working, and I spent honestly ~6+ hours trying to get it to work (Wi-Fi had issues and even USB wouldn't work after a certain point). Huuuuuuuuge waste of time—I can't believe I actually tried so many things to get it to work.

Anyway, I decided to pull the trigger and purchase this printer.

Easily the most I've ever paid for a printer in my life. Probably at least double what I've paid in the past.

Why is it so hard to find a good printer these days? In 2018, I got a monochrome Brother printer on-sale for 40$ (Office Depot) and it was incredible. *sigh*

Fingers crossed with this one

Goes without saying, using it for sublimation will void the warranty.

Would like to know people's experience with photo printing as well 👍

On that note, what kind of paper do you guys recommend? I don't have a car, so I have to order from an online retailer...

But paper in general and also photo paper

Just picked one up. Hate dropping $300 on a printer but tied of fighting with my five year old Canon. Alignment issues and ink constantly running out.

So they point of these are that the ink doesn't dry out as quickly and cheaper to replace when it does? I'm tired of my inkjet because the rare times I go to use it I'm out of ink and all the places to buy ink are closed lol..

would this be the route to go or the cannon laser printer?

Have had this printer for over 6 months now I guess.....and no issues at all! The only downside is the screen is not a touch screen, you have to use the pad to the right...or via your computer. Otherwise very happy with it, and would buy again
