Just note in case anyone is using ad Xfinity Gateway for gigabit ethernet, Netgear Orbi's (all models) have issues for many people. You will constantly get disconnects between the Orbi mesh and Xfi Gateway. Switched to a Linksys mesh myself and never had a problem. Google yourself before going down the hole.
Is this worth the money? I want a good mesh network with WiFi 6, but is this worth $200 more than that other Netgear one at Costco for $229.99 (link below)? My house is about 3000 sqft, so I'm thinking this may be overkill. I know that this one is tri-band, and the cheaper one is only dual band. Is that a big difference?

I own my own Netgear modem cm1100 with Xfinity internet, so I shouldn't have an issue?

It depends on your LAN usage and Internet speed. Long in short, if your Internet speed > 400M or have a lot of LAN data exchange, just take the Orbi. If your ISP Internet < 200M, the cheaper Nighthawk set is a better option.

You sure you setup the gateway to just be a pass through and disable router services? I have a gigabit gateway and the RBK50 Orbi system have had it work just fine now for over a year

I concur... actually, anything BUT Linksys has died on the Comcast Network, for me...

So, no firewall protection? Do you also do IT for an Oil Company?
Actually, relying on a COTS AIO Wifi AP with built in firewall would be totally what you'd expect from Coastal. Anyone else would use the WiFi features of the AP and turn bridging on and throw a real firewall in front of it all.
