Don't bother, I did this, I didn't get a response for a month, and it was "hi swechsler, we hope you have received your reward by now".

Instead, read this thread and contact one of the mods there directly.
Signed up for one of these rebates back in January I think. Never received the rebate.
Doing everything you're doing, but faster.

Also, downloading large files. Backing up large files. Just having a better experience in general. 10 people are streaming in my house? I can still download something fast. I don't have to wait.

It lowkey bothers me when people say they don't need fast internet--I firmly believe you don't know what you need. There were plenty of people who said they don't need internet at all, or that 14.4 or 28.8 or 56k was fine back in the analog modem days. If we listened to these luddites we'd all be stuck with Australia speeds. Progress has been bad enough here, we should have fiber EVERYWHERE by now but the companies are pocketing the taxpayer money literally earmarked for infrastructure because of various loopholes. It's totally bullshit, but the only thing that will change their mind is demand and competition.

Also, due to network effects, the more people with faster internet, the better the experience is for everyone. People and companies won't innovate and provide new services if the capability isn't there, but once it's there, they will. Think high-bandwidth VR applications, cluster computing, extremely high quality streaming (you could even send raw frames), etc.

Push progress forward and get the fastest internet you can reasonably afford. If you're on a tight budget, I get it, I've been there.

But trust me, once you have it, it's hard to go back. It's like upgrading your monitor. Yeah, you can do everything just as well on a 19" monitor, but having a 27" monitor is just really nice. Same deal here.

No matter which service you use, having your own router and other layouts to cover the entire house should be assumed. And I did that with both services. You save money and get the best experience in that way.

As Kumicho mentioned above, the upload speed of Comcast is horrendous. I get about 8-900Mbps upload speed with FIOS. I teach courses overseas through Zoom. I can't risk any freeze-up on my side. Of course, you will be fine with slower speed for regular surfing and one of two zoom sessions. But, that's like arguing that we don't need cars because most of the time you don't go far. My point is this deal is good if you can afford it.
I recently had to switch from Fios Gigabit to Comcast/Xfinity because I moved to a place that doesn't have Fios and I couldn't agree more. I ended up choosing the 1.2gbps plan (which is more like 7-800Mbps download in reality) just so I could get at least a measly 35mbps upload speed... Such a ridiculous upload speed... Oh and I already experienced various connection drops in the middle of my day during my first month, which is pathetic compared to one drop every 6+ months with Fios. There's no comparison between both service, boy I miss Fios Gigabit.

so spend a $1000 on internet. save $120 on prime (if you use it) and get prepaid gift card as a rebate of $75.

TCB has $65 cash back on the same product. I have never missed a payment or had to remind them on cash back , a good 50% off all rebates I have had required follow up, and 20% i have never received

Heck, I hear you do not even have to do that, just sign up using different email address. I know gmail, you can just use "." anywhere in your email address before "@" and it will just ignore that. For Yahoo, you can just create a new email address and use that.

Agreed. I "cancel" any yearly service the month the promo price is going to run out. By 15 days of my "cancel" date they sent me a mailer or email offering me the same deal for the next year.

Does anyone know how much the installation fee or modem rental is? I can't seem to get to that stage without running a credit check first.

I suppose it depends on what you're torrenting, but IME most streams max out way below 10mb/sec.

Couple of questions:
1) my neighbors have FiOS but I am the rare bird that has Comcast. So there is fiber all over our street but it has never been actually connected to my house. Will there be an extra charge to bring the line from the corner to my house when I request connection?

2) is there an extra charge to configure my connection as an ONT only so I can use my own router assume I will be streaming over broadband w/no need for FiOS TV
1) It depends what you mean by "corner". If they can string a line from that pole to your house without installing more trunk fiber then you should be fine. If not, then you may be out of luck.
2) No; in fact, if you order any speed over 100mb, they automatically do this (at least that's what one of their reps told me). If not, just tell the technician you want to use ethernet instead of MOCA.

my neighbors literally across the street from me has had Fios for the past 15 years. My whole neighborhood has it. Except for my side of the street. I have called every year for the past 15 years to ask when I can get Fios. Like throw me a line 5 feet away from me lol. Still no luck.

I thought they did away with contracts last year and everything is their Mix/Match pricing now?

I love fios service. I have the 1 gigabit plan and sometimes I catch it speeding. Fastest I've seen it go is uploading a ton of data to google's servers at 1.6 gbs. Only thing to complain about is the pricing after the promo.

Interestingly, that may not be true. I bought my current home in early 2008. My city is listed as having FIOS however my street did not have service. I've been wanting it since purchasing the home and it JUST expanded to my street last month, over 13 years later. Yeah it really took that long, but it happened. My service gets installed this Friday! Smilie
