Good to know. I am a Liberty customer with their 1GB plan, and wish to point out that any unused data does not roll over to the next month.

A warning for any others intending to port in an existing number:

I signed up for the free plan (using the mobile app, because the website refused to accept my address) with the expectation that I would be able to port my current number in immediately and at no cost.

I received the SIM card in the mail, inserted it into my own phone, and activated it. Then, since there is no option to begin the porting process online, I contacted chat support. Chat support said to call phone customer support. Phone support (probably based overseas) stated that:
  • Free plans are for only testing out local coverage before signing up for a paid plan
  • Free plans are ineligible for porting in
  • I must wait 1 month and sign up for a paid plan before I would have the option

I pointed out that their marketing materials advertised the ability to transfer a current number at any time for free, with no mention that only paid plans are eligible.

Their home page (https://www.libertywireless.com/index.php) states:

Keep Your Number, Keep Your Phone
Enjoy our reliable network from the number you already have and your own compatible phone. You can also get a new number if you like!
Their FAQ (https://www.libertywireless.com/Faq.php) states:

Can I use my current phone number with Liberty Wireless?
Yes! You can transfer your current phone number to Liberty Wireless with just a few steps (and for free!). Feel free to reach out to us anytime during this process, we are here to help!
1. You will need to have your current carrier's account number and PIN.
2. Reach out to us via Email or Phone to provide your current carriers information.
3. Wait for confirmation from us!
Your service must still be active with your original carrier in order for them to transfer the number to us.
Unfortunately, the phone agent didn't budge. I'm now contacting email support hoping that they would be more willing/able to assist me.

I ported out from Liberty to Google Fi. I emailed them and they gave me the account # and pin no problem.
Were account number and PIN that emailed to you by customer service different from the account # (6 digits) and password found on your account profile online?

This should be added to the Wiki - that code makes this a 2GB deal.

I was able to use the code APPLOVE twice in the app so now I have 3GB data.

That code only gives you an extra 1GB for the current month. It's not 2GB every month (unless they changed it)

Also take a look at US Mobile. They have more data at the same price point as Mint, and they do NOT require bulk-buy: you can go month-to-month. They have verizon and tmobile looks like.

I just switched one of my lines from Mint to US Mobile. It has only been a couple of days, but so far so good.
I knew it, the fox was a sale man.

Thanks for the confirmation.
The 6-digit account number and 4-digit PIN are readily available on the account profile [libertywireless.com] online.

Be careful when you activate, I activated my phone, it downloaded over 840mb of bloatware onto my phone over my 4g connection. Now I'm stuck with almost no additional data for the month.

Visible does not accept Liberty Wireless for port-in promotions. See list of eligible carriers here [visible.com].

You can neither port in or port out your number from the free plan making it unworthy.

A free month of service is definitely not unworthy
