Being a 300lb man (at times up to 365lb), I have learned to buy the FIRMEST, MOST EXPENSIVE mattress you can tolerate and afford. Yes, at first they feel like you're sleeping on a granite slab, but add a good 2 inch memory foam layer and they are pretty comfortable - PLUS YOUR BACK WILL THANK YOU! The heavier you are, the faster your body will compress a mattress. Having a good quality, very firm mattress will slow this process down considerably. Just my personal experience.

At first you will probably HATE your very firm mattress, over a few months as it softens up a bit, you will wonder why you ever bought a soft saggy mattress!

It's very difficult to research mattresses because the industry sells the same mattress under different names at various retailers. But if you compare the number of coils, the composition and thickness of the various layers, you can usually figure out competing products at different retailers, then just buy from the lowest price. I like us-mattress.com because they give comprehensive info about relative firmness, coils, layers, total weight, user reviews, etc., about their products. You can use this as a starting point to compare similar mattresses at other retailers by trying to match up some of the info. It's not always perfect, but it's the best way I have found to make an informed decision, in an industry that doesn't want consumers making informed decisions.

This stuff isn't worth anywhere near the claimed "worth" prices.

(Not speaking about this specific mattress) I always found that whole notion "you get what you pay" kind of crazy. What if I got something on sale does the quality drop since I paid less compared to someone who paid the full price. What if I bought a sh*tty over priced product would I still "get what I paid for". Measuring quality by price is absolute lunacy specially if you are a savvy buyer who is always looking for a deal.

Sorry, didn't check full. King and Twin xl had the base deal last I checked. Took a bit of searching to find them.
Can you post a link for the King? For me it's just showing the box spring included

$190 for shipping makes this a bad deal.
Non-white glove delivery is $70 here. Less the $24 cash back makes it pretty palatable.

Somehow I got free white glove delivery........ When I place the order, not sure why but they charged me an extra base, which I didn't have in my cart, for additional $399, and make the total $800+, guess that make me qualified for the free shipping. When I found that I been charged $800+ with an extra item I didn't order, I call them and tell them I didn't order that extra base, so they just cancel it.

Not sure at the end how much will be on my macy card though, I guess I will only knows when I see the statement. lol

So which is the FIRMEST mattress you bought then?

I'm looking for something extremely firm/hard to sleep on which is comparable to a non-carpeted floor. My back is killing me.

This is so true. Although, I'm not making weight comparisons, both my wife and I have been sleeping on the carpet with minimal bedding (fleece comforter etc) and our back pain is mostly gone (no other changes to lifestyle). So, get the hardest mattress as suggested here.
This is exactly what I am doing (sleeping on carpeted floor with comforter spreadout) and my sever back pain has diminished alot.

Search mattresses then filter by brand and free gift. There are different links for different deals

It looks like this is a new mattress, cannot find anything about it. I'm very new to mattresses, currently using a cheap Amazon memory foam one I got for like $200 back in the day, but it still got like 4.5+ stars on Amazon. Does anyone know if I'll notice an improvement with this one? I have no idea how the Amazon generic brands are so cheap, I thought memory foam was expensive.

Also this one is considered an innerspring type not hybrid, even though it has components of memory foam? I bit the bullet and bought some, but am a bit nervous.

My opinion, with mattresses you get what you pay for. I don't have this particular one but I'm thinking it's one you would normally put in your guest room.
My mattress cost $25 about 60 years ago. Construction is the only thing that matters, and I don't know what makes one mattress fall apart in a year and one mattress not sag after a lifetime, but it wasn't the price.

Seems that the shipping on this varies quite a bit by area.

White Glove: - $335
Room of choice - $275

I looked at the mattresses at Macy's the other day and stopped looking really quick when I saw their shipping charges.

Had to pull the trigger. Mattress firm offered me the same free base but the mattress was 700. Same one.

Does it sleep very cool? I'm a hot sleeper. My current memory foam mattress is 13 years old and it really traps in heat, which makes sleeping uncomfortable.

Brooklyn Bedding. I will not go with any other mattress company. They make a great product and have an even better customer relations dept. I highly recommend šŸ‘Œ
